They should make him blow before each game and at half time

Higgins is so great at anticipating fouls that he already has called two against us in our match-up against Cincy.

(God I hope we don't have him again Monday)

The real reason Fab is out for two games is because Higgins called 10 pre-emptive fouls on him Friday night.

Actually I pretty much thought that maybe that's what Cooley did to him in the locker room prior to the game.

Higgins always looks like he stayed a little too long in the bar after the Knights of Columbus meeting.

They sure take their time on video reviews. Why it's almost like these useless fat old clowns need a rest or something.. nah

he rents a designated donkey for rides to and from games.

Refs were horrid last night.

Amongst others, Cooley had the ball for about 20 seconds it seemed like around Southerland and BMK and kept swinging his elbows; how that wasn't 5 seconds I'll never know

Guys was a bad ref back when i was playing i always thought he was piss poor and unlike a fine wine he sure as heck hasnt gotten better with time. He is truly a poor ref

I honestly don't remember - did Cooley ever put the ball on the floor there? Because that resets the 5 second count, and a 5 second count for a ref is always closer to 6 or 7 seconds in real time.

He did once, but that doesn;t reset the count as far as I know. It's just the "closely guarded" rule, right? If you don't move closer to the basket while closely guarded for 5 sec, dribbling or not, its a violation.

Higgins = Pennywise

Unfortunately these are the types of comments we've learned to expect after SU loses a game. All the children get their panties twisted and start with the whining and the outrageous personal attacks on the refs, especially Higgins and Burr. Never mind the fact that they are consistently rated by the NCAA as two of the best in the business. I'm sure it was Higgins fault that our offense was terrible last night, and he's to blame for Cooley making Keita look so bad.

I think refs get too much blame when we lose. However, I don't have any issue with questioning the overall performance of refs at this level. And I need only point to the game we WON -- against Marquette. Higgins under the basket. Doesn't see the lane violation (or doesn't realize he can call it). Doesn't see the push in the back on Triche, literally right in front of him. Doesn't see Fab throw an elbow -- again right in front of him. All of this occurred in the same possession. I said it then, and I'll say it again now. If he didn't see those three things -- in a span of about 20 seconds -- what was he looking at?

IMO
I feel the ND game is not the game to go after the refs mainly because we shot so bad it really didn't matter. If you shoot 25% with 10 minutes left (that means 25% for three quarters of the game) you don't deserve to win.
Have we had games where we should YES! Clear as day.

Did they blatantly cheat at the ND game? YES!!! They have done that many times to us the last few years blatantly cheated against our favor. We are just a team they do that to. Whenever we are having a good year they blatantly cheat against us. They don't do that to other teams that are good. Its just the way it is. Nobody has cared in the past why would they now?

They only make 5-6 awfull calls at ND thats not to many.

The Pitt game this year was much much much worse. Pitt had 20 illegal screens in the second half alone and JB didn't argue just to show the country the refs incompetence to the Big East and the NCAA higher-ups.

They build a perception to fans of college basketball who watch but aren't that educated that the refs can do whatever you want during Syracuse (only) games and the refs are still right.

The 14 bad calls at Nova last year were much worse.
Now the 8 bad calls against our two centers at Gtown in 09-10 was much worse because they came at one position.
The 6 OT game that we won was much worse Thabeets charge then the push clearout to tie the game and send it into OT was worse.
We won those three four games though, the ND one where there were 4-5 bad calls we didn't.

Maybe they do that to try to nullify 5-6 bad calls that cost us a game here and there.
As long as they get it right during March I can care less.
When your fighting for your life it matters more when you had your chances to get back in the game and shot less then 30 percent for 30 minutes it doesn't so much.

IMO
Also its black and white somewhat.
Sometimes a toughness test is good this should lite a fire under the Butts of Keita and Rak and we have the refs to thank for that. :) . In that sense I am greatful to them.
Being undefeated is much less important then getting better!!!
