Going to be out during the game so will be following by phone. Didn't do a full recap but a few things to watch out for.

Hobart has a number of players Injured or playing less then 100%. Their AA level Fogo Shea is one of them and their #1 O threat in Datellas. Shea played last week vs Providence but was clearly not 100%.

Assuming Clary is out again I suspect SU will bump down Olexxo to cover Datellas as he's the main dodging threat and really the heart of their offense. If SU shuts him down its unlikely Hobart will be able to stay in the game.

Offensively Hobart has some quality options and depth, however, they aren't a great passing team and can have a tendency to try a lot of iso offense. SU defensively has dine a pretty good job defending 1 on 1 and has really been hurt by great ball movement and and huge faceoff disparities save for UNC and JHU.I believe SU matches up fairly well against Bart even if Clary remains out.

Offensively for SU assuming we are remotely competitive at the X, we should be able to put up points. Hobart started a frosh goalie last week as the presumed starter has been hurt all year and the #2 guy has struggled and was finally benched. Hobart is a good riding team (Providence was under 50% clears last week) and is not a complete pushover defensively. That said they have struggled to stop both Cornell and Dartmouth this year and are very susceptible to teams who can move the ball and score with their secondary options. Guys like Kirst, Birtwistle, Leo, Simmons etc could be in for massive games as Hobarts ssdms are suspect and their depth at long pole is shaky. Watch for them to try and sell put in Hiltz and Spallina.

Again this is a decent to solid Hobart team that has talent but also some fatal flaws. Assuming SU isn't getting destroyed at the X (not an assumption to take lightly) or turning it over into the high Teens +, this is a game they should win.

Will Hobart eventually transition back to D3? Seems silly to keep plugging away in mediocrity. They've been to one tourney in roughly the last 20 years and the rivalries in wants to preserve are one sided. The top of the Liberty League is pretty much on par with the MAAC and ASUN (same for the NESCAC and Centennial that they would have access to).

From a business standpoint, unless some major donor is threatening to pull donations, it would seem better to be adding the tuition (application fees too) while reducing travel costs.

They could still play SU and Cornell in the fall and in spring scrimmages.

Good fightin words for game day! They have gotten close to winning their conference tourney at times, but it’s the only way they can get in. They also I believe have restrictions on scholarships but I’m not sure how all that works

Terrible start again. Sloppy play and can't win a faceoff shocking......
