Obviously they'll pass UNC now, but what has Kentucky shown to warrent being ahead of them and getting 1st place votes?

I wouldn't be offended if Baylor got a few of the first place votes. Hard to argue against them.

I agree they should be #2 and have a good case to be #1 even. KY is all about hype.

Have you seen the front of their jerseys? They say 'Baylor' on them.

How could they possibly be any good?

Now if they were a light shade of blue, and said UNC on them, I'd think we have something here.

I've been pretty impressed with Baylor this year. And as far as Kentucky, I don't think anyone is going to vote them down just because they had close games on the road, they still won ... on the road.

Yep...Baylor is tough. REALLY impressive athletes. That game Mon in Lawrence will be awesome. I think both Kansas and Baylor will be a tough out.

Hard to believe what Scott Drew has done with that program after the Dave Bliss disaster.

Based on #2 thru #5 performances it should be a no brainer. Baylor makes me the most nervous.

If baylor beats Kansas in Manhattan, you can make a pretty good case for them being #1. You can make a good case right now also, but throw in a win there, damn. Don't think they'll win though.

Kansas plays in Lawrence, Kansas St. plays in the Little Apple. But I agree with the overall point. Baylor is crazy-athletic and have some good wins. Still impressed that WVU hung with them, and should've beaten them if not for some shoddy officiating late.

Not to take anything away from Baylor, they've looked amazing, but they were handed that game tbh. WVU got screwed in a couple, they were cost a chance to tie UConn on one of the worst calls I've seen in a long time.

I have no idea how I did that. I was thinking Lawrence in my head when I typed Manhattan. Maybe cause they played in Manhattan last week. I dunno.

I think WVU is a pretty solid team. I remember watching that game, I feel like they had it won for a bit there.

Baylor's basketball schedule rivals Rutgers' football schedule for worst ever

Happens to the best of us. Wasn't trying to call you out

I am convinced we will see them in the national championship game. They are very deep as well and can play 10. They have weapons all over the court and their height and athleticism is amazing. They have at lease two draft picks in Perry Jones and Quincy Miller. Will be fun to watch.

Right now I'm considering Baylor and SU pretty much even, with us probably getting the nod for #1. But if they win @ phog on Monday they definitely deserve the #1 ranking.
Pierre Jackson off the bench is almost as scary as DW off the bench.

I love Baylor this year, great team. Jones III, Acy, Pierre Jackson...those guys are very good.

That being sad, the Bears are a few bounces of the ball from being 15-3. They have managed to win some very close games vs. WVU, Miss St, and K-State (but that's also the mark of a great team, finding ways to win).

I will be watching the Monday night game at Kansas with great interest. If they manage to pull out a victory there, I will consider them a serious threat for the National Title.

Baylor is good very good But what they don't have is cj fair

Yeah.. Drew has done $ome job picking Baylor back up. You know, because all the top talent wants to play at Baylor.

I've been saying for years that if we went out of the family to replace JB, I'd want Scott Drew. I've actually been saying that since he coached Valpo against us about 10 years ago. We won, obviously, but I was so impressed with how his guys executed that I thought if he ever got some athletes, he'd win a title or two. He is just a phenomenal coach, and he has a loaded team this year.

Check out this statement on RealTimeRPI from "Errol Flynn"

http://www.realtimerpi.com/rpi_164_Men.html

"RPI rankings really cut thru the BS. So far this season, we've heard a lot about Syracuse's so-called cupcake season. But RPI tells a different story with 5 wins against under #50 RPI so far: VaTech, FL, NC St, Seton Hall, Marquette. Contrast Kentucky with only 4 wins against under #50 RPI so far: Kansas, NC, Indiana, Louisville. Also, while Kentucky played 2 teams with over #300 RPI, Syracuse has played none. Kentucky - not Syracuse - has the cupcake schedule."

I always was a big fan of Erroll Flynn.

Freaking Waco, Texas. Where all the African American hoopsters want to ball.

You'd be surprised how many of the top recruits are Branch Davidians. Waco is like Mecca to them.

I have watched Baylor a couple of time (more than ron Morris I am sure) and have been singularly impressed. A win in Manhattan, Kansas if only by 2 points is a big deal. Very, very tough place to play and win ... fans are rabid. There is no question that they should be #2 IMO.

With all that being said they will lose before we lose ...

The only quibble I have with this is that I already think they are a serious contender. If they win on Monday, they'll probably deserve to be #1.
