But for game one with the new faces on defense and the depth guys rotating in it was an outstanding perfromance.

Defense gave up two plays of more than ten yds. Nothing 20 or more. Nobody did better than that.

On offense 27 plays of 10 or more yds. Only teams with more plays like that have played two games.

On defense beyond not giving up a score colgate didn’t cross the 50 until the 4th.

On offense 9 offensive scores, 1 punt, 3 turnovers deep in Colgate territory. I get the to’s were sloppy but tough to do much better on drive efficiency.

While not predictive, that level of performance is indicative of what they are capable of.

Big weakness last year was runs between the tackles, tomorrow will be a good test. Perfect week 2 ramp up game.

We ran so vanilla in the running game that until we see Purdue you cant really say much about it.. We ran no sweeps, just some inside traps, we didnt really run RPO or use the QB or run and motion.

Its hard to know even how much we changed the plays at the line, We might have run plays against the D that we wouldnt even use in a better game.

Even in the passing game, we run some double stack plays but very little variety their either.

Turnovers were the least of my concern. One miscommunication in the red zone. And two fumbles by 3rd string players.

People shouldn't expect perfection. There will be mistakes. Key is to have much more good than bad.

For a first game, it was an outstanding performance on BOTH sides of the ball.

Strong indicator of what this team's potential is, irrespective of caliber of opponent in the opener.

Yep and tackled very well. A lot of solid fundamental execution and that was a very good thing.

I was encouraged by the first 2 strings whole body of work overall and we didn't see a drop off which hasn't happened in quite a while.

I feel like our DC called off the dogs a bit too. Felt like if we’d wanted to blitz every down we’d have obliterated them by a lot more
