they can turn him into Rony Seikaly. The new slimmed down Fab is tremendously athletic. He just has to be taught and develop some offensive post moves.

If Fab stays 4 years, he'll be turning down a huge amount of money by not leaving after his second or third year. He's already 21 and would be 24 by the time he played his first NBA game if he sticks all four years at SU.

Not gonna happen

...not going to happen...gone by end of junior year if not earlier...of course where does he play with NBA falling apart

why do you guys think fab looks that good? i agree that this season he actually looks like a combination of a guy who played basketball before combined with a guy who can walk and chew gum and happens to be 7 feet tall, but really, what have you seen that makes you think this kid can play in the nba?

He didnt start playing ball until a few years ago. Hes 7 feet tall, with a jumpshot who is freakishly athletic. Yeaaaa, why would anyone in the NBA want that?

Huge amounts of cash following the NBA around. Don't think it'll be down very long no matter how bleak things look.

There is no surprise that Fab has great feet and agility. Dude played soccer his whole life.

This NBA lockout is getting ugly... There is nowhere to go right now excpet overseas... kemba could be playing right now, instead he's twiddling his thumbs... No reason to walk away from any eligibility right now... Melo will be here a while..

Still a good chance theres a 50 game season this year. Would be shocked if this lasted into next years season. I wouldnt count on the lockout keeping Fab here.

Melo's gone. Especially because of the Brazilian factor, I really don't think it matters if the NBA is locked out, he'll get paid a lot to play in Spain, Italy, Germany, France after this season.

Melo still has much to learn ... but at 7' the NBA will draft him on potential. But it will be a lower draft pick... that is if there is an NBA. A lot of kids may be coming back next year ... especially with a crowded draft. I think 1 more year ... this year will continue to be a developmental year for him and he shows his stuff in his jr. year ... and then bye bye. The question is if he comes back what do we do with Coleman ...

Yeah, the market for 7 footers is very crowded...

Dewayne Demond, Tyler Zeller and... oh my, that's it. Fab is by himself in the draft.

(And before I get something about Drummond, Davis, they are only 6'10", and projected to be Power Forwards and short centers. Different area of kids).

That alone puts a smile on my face.

It's ok; with all that time to kill, perhaps Kemba could pick up a book.

I think the Brazilian factor may make that less likely. Before his freshman year, he made an enormous deal about his mother's pride in his admission to a well-regarded school, how highly education is valued in his country, and the great opportunity basketball has given him to go after a degree.

Not saying he won't leave if he's projected as a high lottery pick, but one got the sense that that wasn't just the usual lip-service about a college education.

Add Tobias Harris and the smile gets larger ;)))

No argument here, but didn't Flynn and his family say how important a college education was too?

Either way, I'm in the "one more year" boat.

Jonny jumped because he was a lottery pick who probably maxed out his high-draft mark after the 6OT game. He was never going much higher than 6. There was also no lockout looming (at least not immediately) when he jumped. It was a good move for Jonny.
