Only one team in SU history has ever gone undefeated for the entire year. It happened exactly 100 years ago and that team finished 12-0. The current team is 12-0. However, no SU team in the modern era has come close to finishing the regular season undefeated (forget about post season).

The record for best start is 19-0 held by the 2011-12 and 1999-20 teams.

We went 20-0 in 2011-2012 and went 30-1 in the regular season. Pretty close to undefeated

30-1 is a truly crazy record in this day and age, especially for a team playing in the Big East (KY had the same record that year in obviously a lesser conference). It's surprising that team never gets anointment that the 09-10 team gets (I guess Fab has a lot to do with that).

Yep. I think it has more to do with the impression of that particular Kentucky team though. That was one talented squad. In 2009-2010 I think we had the best overall talent and we had the best chemistry. Still, if Fab had been eligible, we'd be talking about possibly making our third consecutive Final Four this year and had AO stayed healthy, talking about our fourth in five years. Just an incredible run that keeps coming up short for some reason or another. It's another reason why I believe this will be our year.

I suppose my post should be modified to say a perfect season. I think that has only happened once since the UCLA glory days.
