Is it just me????

It's not me. I think we're going to win Saturday and Pitt will just be one of those days.

The defense played very well against Pitt. Some will say because Pitt didn't care, but their best player is a running back that teams have had trouble stopping. We did.

We'll be fine.

But I'll be attending this game, so that means something really bad will happen on the first play. Sorry everyone, I'm still going.

I'm a little deflated but VT will be the season decider. We had a terrible loss to Stanford but managed to bounce back with two road wins. Win against VT and things are still on track to be a good season.

If they're non competitive against VT then I am fully deflated.

Well, it was a deflating loss.
Our OL struggled, no running attack, McCord had a bad game. But it was one real bad half — horrible — move on, prove something.

Unlike the past two years when Shrader went down, and other injuries piled up, we have McCord, almost all of our starters, and more depth.

Is it just me or are most of us just totally deflated from Thursday, effectively, anticipating the worst going forward? They looked absolutely unprepared and unable to adjust. This all seems like a movie we’ve seen before.
yes definitely. And now I can't make the game due to some family stuff to start to exercise the demons. Lets hope they salvage the season.

Someone should handcuff you outside until the first play is completed. I think that's fair.

Part of me feels this way, another part of me says "I have never seen a guy in my almost 50 years of watching football intercept a ball while lying on his stomach while not actually diving for it. The stars were just not aligned that night"

My excitement meter is toned down a lot since last Thurs, and I am definitely anticipating another collapse. But, as my SU friends like to say, I have not predicted us to win a game since 1998 bc of too many decades of SUPTSD:) We will be there Sat as usual, tailgating early, and then loud as hell to try and right this ship.

Put a beer in my other hand, and I won't fight it.

It is kind of an amazing run of early disasters in the one game per year I attend.
Whenever you have time, I would love a rundown of this chaos if you choose to relive it.

They are 22nd in total offense, 43rd in total defense, that’s good, this program hasn’t been this high in both this far into a season since the end of 2012.

Part of that is a function of the number of plays run and faced because yds per play are very average, but they are running a lot of plays because they are excellent on 3rd down and they have been good on third down defense as well.

They are a good but inefficient team that has some high end strengths but some significant weaknesses as well,

They don’t suck and they aren’t going into games overmatched. They also don’t have the margin to make mistakes that lead to easy points.

I mean, we are 5-2. People are acting like the season is over. Im actually annoyed that people think the ACC is already decided as well. There are still a bunch of conference games to be played for Miami, Clemson and SMU. We lost 2 damn games, and one by a single play.

If you told most people we would be 5-2 at this point in the season before the season started almost all would taken it

Top of my head, snap over Paulus’ head in 2009. Pitt bubble screen 80 yard TD in 2010, Lamar 80 yard TD pass in 2016, ND INT TD in 2022. Shrader hit and fumble against Clemson in 2023 (technically the 3rd play).

I guess it's not THAT bad. But this trip to the Dome, I'd love to see a win.

And that Pitt D was pretty stout!

Well...we HAVE seen this movie before...first 6 games bravo...second half of season "mule muffins".
So was the PITT game a bad day at the office= something that can be "corrected"? Or is our talent level not able to compete with above average level competition? Home against VaTech..solid program.
This week IS make or break...

The loss definitely took the wind out of my Sails of Enthusiasm.

But there's still 5 games to be played and this team can certainly have a good season if they finish strong.

The path to 8+ wins is very much there, but that's gotta start at noon on Saturday. Must win IMHO.

I'm usually in the optimistic camp but I'm really concerned about the remainder of the season. And I'm not exactly the playoff or bust type.

The fact that our receivers couldn't get separation for even screen passes as our oline was collapsing is really discouraging.

Don't get me wrong, our future is bright. But the remainder of this season is seriously in question and next year's schedule is a bear.

I am having a tough time getting excited for the rest of the season. I will watch every game, but playing for the Pinstripe Bowl or Military Bowl at this point isn't really getting me going.

It almost feels like we are rooting to get into the NIT.

Were you expecting the playoffs or an Orange Bowl in year 1?

Wind completely stalled from the sails at this point, unless we get a much needed win Saturday. And not just for us fans, but for the kids playing as well. I think they need a boost as well, for which I think Coach Fran can deliver. He's a true believer in his squad, on all 3 facets of the game. Remember, this past few years, we've had the Babers approach where we do well in the first 6, then completely take a Schpitt in the following 6... I will be there, rooting the kids and coaching staff on, this year and for years to come.

GO ORANGE!!!

I don't understand this. You thought SU was likely to be one of the top 12 teams in the country this season? Why are we playing for a 6-6 team bowl? We're 5-2 with 5 to play.
