I watch these games and I wonder if JB is frustrated enough to retire? He’s so competitive that this team has to be killing him. I could see him just walking into Wildhack’s office and say I’m done. I wonder if JB would give Hop notice to think about coming back. If he did, please let Hop know soon so he can bring Stewart with him. He hasn’t signed a letter of intent yet. JB looks tired to me. I’m just guessing, but I can’t see JB finishing his career being just average with no chance of being a top five team. There’s no top 20 team on the horizon.

Its counterintuitive to think he would leave while Buddy is still in school but it wouldn't surprise me at all.

I think some of what you see is still the aftermath of the accident.

Are you kidding or are you serious. I honestly don't know which of these 3 events is the craziest. JB retiring because of this team, Hop coaching us next year or Stewart coming here. Let's call it a 3 way tie. This is not happening.

So you want to trade the old coot in for Hop and Stewart, and make all this happen in the next 4-6 months, in the midst of Hop doing well building his own program, JB coaching his freshman son, and that’s the recipe for returning the program to it’s annual final 4 status? Do I have that right?

Seems legit

He's here thru Buddy and then we need to escort him from the building and start the new chapter.

Franco, we have no idea how the accident affected things. I know for me personally, dealing with death was hard enough when I returned to work, I can't imagine what coach is working through. It could explain some questionable coaching choices, or odd player substitution patterns. Not saying this is an issue, just saying it's certainly plausible and might be an additional hurdle besides the obvious ones.

Hop could easily turn us into a F4 contender, amazing coach. I’m not knocking JB because he is a HOF coach but over the past couple years he just hasn’t got it done. Everyone can blame sanctions but that’s done with and over. Keep in mind the first year of sanctions maybe...? We had two top 40 players commit to us. Just goes to show how bad recruiting has gotten

ha ha ha! Lots of insane posts today

Nope.

I worry for our next coach this league is tough and our fans expect us to be the same level as Duke and UNC. We've had halftime leads over all of them as a coach I'm sure deep down inside he'd love to play them in the NCAAT.

I bet like me he wishes we could skip the ACCT and go right to the dance though.

We're starting to sound like Providence and Seton Hall fans in the old Big East who would say after a 15 point loss to Syracuse, but we were even with them at halftime. If only we didn't screw up we could have won. Now that's us against UNC and UVA.

This team should be featuring a top 10 recruit its not the staffs fault the kid went to the G league. The second best recruit in the class was highly ranked. Jalens regression has nothing to do with recruiting. The third highest ranked recruit in the class has been excellent in ACC play as a freshman and might be the best shooter in the league.

Next years class might end up impressing. Too early to tell about any class after that.

We might bring the entire team sans Frank back next year and my guess is they will be dominant with so much talent leaving the ACC. I'd rather have a senior Battle than a 1 and done freshman.

The team is Jeckyl and Hyde good Syracuse when they show up can beat anyone. Its frustrating that our 'fans' can't even credit us with this. I was mocked when I said I had a hunch that we'd play well vs Ohio St and @ Duke since we had lost to lesser teams before those games. This group of guys is frustrating but they won 3 NCAAT games last year so get the benefit of the doubt from me.

This is not the Syracuse we are wanting and use to but let's put this into perspective people. This is a tournament team who may be dangerous. Granted, we have gotten blown out by some of the top teams in the country but it amazes me the roller coaster some people ride in their heads based upon every single game. When we beat Duke all of a sudden people think we can consistently beat anyone. When we get crushed by a few teams, people push the panic button and call for JB's head. As I have said in countless posts...WE ARE WHO WE ARE...a team in the top 15%- 20% of NCAA teams but not currently a formidable constantly Top 20 team. That sucks but it also shouldn't be all doom and gloom. Boeheim is an emotional guy at times but he is a lot more rationale than a lot of people on this board, I can say that! He is not going anywhere.
