pity the poor dude who asked a question about pressing. JB believes the press is the enemy of the people.
In what parallel universe does the coach that has employed the press probably more than any otner coach in college basketball so far this year believe it's the enemy of the people.

There's nothing more suicidal than continuing to press against a team that is beating it easily.

He really does have a sparkling personality
Maybe if the press stopped asking stupid questions, things would run smoother.

As JB asked, "Did you watch the game?"
If JB came out and sounded like Dino, you'd think he was putting you on.
Are you talking about the Coach Babers who has twice stopped press conferences and singled out and excoriated reporters for yawning?

Now, certainly you're able to make the distinction between how Babers does it vs. JB. Babers does it in a playful manner in getting his point across, whereas JB comes after you as if you just gave his wife the 'ol up and down look down. ;)

Isn't it great that someone with the stature of JB is leading the way by insisting on intelligent questions from the so-called press?

Babers is doing some of the same thing by deflecting the questions, giving answers to the questions that should have been asked and smiling while he is doing it.

These reporters are extremely slow learners. What would cause someone to ask JB a question about why he quit using the press? That's essentially challenging one of the acknowledged best minds in basketball on the game strategy. (And please spare me suggesting it was just curiosity.)

JB's take was that it should have been abundantly clear why he stopped pressing. It wasn't working even a little bit. Why would anyone with half a basketball brain ask him that? Why should the presser have to be made into a Basketball 101 class?

The difference between Babers and JB? Let's see, how about a NC, Hall of Fame, 40+ years, etc., etc?

Babers, to an extent, has to tolerate fools.

JB doesn't and won't. Ask an intelligent question and you'll get an intelligent, direct answer. Why squander this opportunity to ask questions of one of the few coaches that are going to give you a quality answer?

constantly calling out yourself as the smartest person in the room really just makes you sound like an ass.

(and for the not so quick "press" is used as a double entendre there)

what's next ? pulling press passes for failing to "embrace " the boeheim ?

You are so obsessed with finding fault in Jimmy. It’s incredible.

Yeah, that’s beyond a stupid question. You KNOW why he took the press off.

If the press was working and he took it off and we got lit up and he never went back to the press...then ask that question.

He has no tolerance for stupid questions that everyone already knows the answer to. Frankly, as a listener/viewer...neither do I.
