Jerome smith pro day

Man, next go around he better shave 2 tenths off that 40. I wonder if he's got any back or other issues for 14 reps??

I'm surprised he only did 14 reps considering how bulky his upper body is.

We have a crack strength training staff.

Whats worse is those are unofficial 40's and 9 times outta ten, they are usually faster than the official times.
That hurts Rome so much. He really needs to run well at his pro day.

Must have a crack stopwatch staff as well. Wasn't it a 4.48 reported at spring ball or something? And he just spent 3-4 weeks at combine training in Florida. Can't believe he would get slower.

seems like former players love hicks, what's people opinion of him. With development of players we need best staff can have in that department. Even though we never look physical outmatched in a lot of our games.

14 reps is really head scratching. That's just plain awful. This really couldn't have went any worse for Rome

Yeah, that's why I mentioned a nagging injury possibly. Plus the slow 40, maybe something there..

Wow, I hope the best for him, but you have to wonder why he left when he was projected to go in the 5-7 round range and now with these numbers he will be lucky to get drafted. I am not a big believer in the value of the forty time, but not many teams are going to draft a non-full back who runs a 4.77. Only 14 reps in the bench was also surprising.

He ranked 31st out of 33 RB's. Also, only 13 ran under 4.5. Always take reported unofficial 40 times with a grain of salt.

He'll be a FA and find it difficult to make an NFL roster. I wish him luck.

This is exactly how I see it as well. Rome needs to improve in all these numbers at SUs pro day.

I think he runs faster than 4.77 he ran away from guys on some occasions this year. I think he plays faster, but he certainly isn't lightening quick nor does he have crazy long speed. Gotta hope he can speed up a tenth plus on the 40 in the Dome

The bench and agility drills are more important to Smith than his 40 time. His NFL future would be as a short-yardage specialist so he doesn't need to be a 4.5 guy.

I am not surprised at his results. Still am shocked that he even entered the draft. He at least had another year to build up stats.

rome just messed up with a mental mistake in the RB gauntlet drill. He has caught it well, but iffy routes, and the mental mistakes are mounting for Rome. Tough day

Wow, announcers blasting Smith, "How can you be the 29th rb (in the drill) and turn the wrong way?"

He saw the writing on the wall. Not his ideal situation to be sure. His stock wasn't going to be higher with a lot less stats and carries after next season.
