Does anyone have a clip of JJs amazing shot from behind the backboard as the shot clock wound down? I can't seem to find a replay of that.

For my money that was one of the best "trick shots" I've ever seen from Cuse during a live game. Absolutely incredible and we needed those 2 points badly!

I’m looking for that one as well.

I couldn’t believe it at first. Birdesque

At 5:20.

The next play after that was a Kyle mini hook for a basket. But then Starling had a steal and went in for the uncontested dunk... One of the bench players in warmups ran onto the court across the corner and down the baseline to celebrate JJs impending dunk. I think it was Kiyan. Can anyone confirm?

It would have been a great chance for an SEC official to call a technical on the bench and turn a nice play for us to a couple free throws and possession for Tennessee. I am all for being excited, but that needs to be toned down.

NFL coaches hire somebody whose only game day job is to physically push them back off the field if they get too excited and risk a penalty.

If bball refs actually gave out techs for coming out on the court, Buzz Williams would be serving burgers right now.

My thoughts on how to keep JJ as efficient on both ends as possible.

1. Keep him off the foul line. If he misses badly just get him out quickly and sit him for a little. It really messes with his head on both ends.

2. With how the Nate and Sadiq can defend anyone on the court and Kyle rim protecting we can give JJ assignments like Ament. I think JJ having defensive assignments that are more manageable are translating to better offense and him just being smarter on both ends.

The biggest difference from JJ in previous years to JJ right now is that his Defense is driving his offense. Last year it was the opposite and he missed a ton of shots and then was just a mess on defense.

The key point was that SEC officials looking for a way to make sure Tennessee won the game would have had a six point swing with one "mistake" from our bench...

But that would never happen, right?

It is definitely a legal shot. If it was directly behind the backboard then it would of been illegal, but the corners of the backboard are fair game.
IOts more interesting because i have seen it called legal and not legal. some places say its the backboard itself that makes illegal and going over is not illegal, others dont. Some places say its behind the backboard not over that illegal.

in the old days when we had the backboards that came out of the walls they used to run a pass play to lob it over the backboard and if you had a jumper it was almost impossible to stop. not a shot but it was interesting to see.

Wasn’t illegal. He was not behind the backboard.

On the JJ dunk it was Kiyan hyping up the crowd 100% along with Sadiq doing his best dunk impression from the half court line, love to see it.

Then a play or two later when Sadiq got an alley-oop from JJ the entire bench went wild.

Then two plays later when Kyle got an oop the most animated again was Kiyan with Donnie.

Having fun with their boys. The comradery, in Rothstein's own words...palpable.

Did I miss something? Were our pants not completely covering our knee pads?
And wasn't Kiyan Anthony on the court for almost a full tenth of a second?

I read the ball should not go over the rectangular backboard either direction or it is instantly out of bounds. Good for everyone to know this.
