Jordan Fredericks to transfer to UMass

Looks like he's running over a 170 pound umass safety.

It’s got to be the unis and helmets but that whole team looks like a bunch of little kids, which I know they aren’t.

He's gonna have to be really impressive if he's gonna beat out my guy Marquis Young.

Try watching after someone pointed it out...it was all I could think about.

Here's their offensive line, don't seem that small: Matty Vautour reports UMass is counting on a veteran offensive line.

The starting OL for 2018 should be;

LT Ray Thomas-Ishman JR 6-5 310

LG Jake Largay RSSR 6-4 325

C Derek Dumais RSJR 6-4 330

RG Lukas Kotler RSSR 6-4 315

RT Jake Driscoll RSJR 6-5 300

The second team OL according to the November 27th 2017 depth chart:

LT James Reilly RSSO 6-3 290

LG Mike Yerardi RSJR 6-4 315

C Lucas Kotler

RG Dan DiNicola RSSR 6-6 305

RT Larnel Coleman RSSO 6-7 300

Other OL on the roster:

Spencer Goldberg SO 6-2 280

Brian Abosi SO 6-8 310

Parker Ogle FR 6-3 290

Can't believe I'm contributing to this discussion, but Driscoll just took a grad transfer.

Weight wise, the line is big. Check it out(Every team, last year):
(The 392 lb dude, was shot 5 times in the back in high school. Dead if he wasn't so big)

Looks like Cuse was the second tallest in the ACC

Good for Jordan, great kid. Hope he does really well there this year.

It's interesting to me to see that some of teams with similar offensive systems to us have some of the biggest olines in the country (Mizzou, Oklahoma, Washington State). I wonder if that is the kind of size our coaches are trying to have up front eventually or if oline size is an actual factor in running the system or what. Would be interesting to hear our coaches or coaches from similar systems discuss their ideal oline size, or if they determine it to be a significant factor.

It’s 100% intentional. Baylor was known for this as well, under Briles.

Commonly referred to as "The Turtle"
Yeah usually caused by the offensive player lowering the boom. If they eliminated that you’d eliminate a lot of injuries. If defenders can’t lead with head offensive players shouldn’t either

I think it’s the pads on the helmets. Makes it look like they are playing a game while wearing one of those novelty sumo wrestling suits or something.

I loved Fredericks and hope he does well. Still confused about how we let him go. Love the way he runs.
