really more of a pet peeve and not directed at the admin really. I am just wondering why people put OT posts everywhere but the 3 OT boards?

as a frequent poster in the OT board, I think that many people have come to think of it as just only political discussion now. that couldn't be more untrue as any non-political posts are very much welcome to break up that tension ... but I can definitely understand why some would avoid it.

I understand that but it makes no sense to see constant OT pro sports topics everywhere but the OT pro sports board.

Much more viewership on SU bball or fball boards than on OT boards. Don't get much discussion going here.

Chicken and the egg. Hard to get discussions going if folks don't post there.

This is an easy thing for me to say, I know... but I'll say it anyway.

If I was an admin I'd be vigilant for a period (30 days? 60 days?) and move all improperly located threads to their proper homes. This in the hope that people get used to placing them where they belong.

I would also support the creation of an apolitical, areligious, OT forum. Call it "On the lighter side", or something similar.

There's no point in having off-topic forums if the basketball and football forums are going to be littered with off-topic threads. I agree that strict enforcement would drive traffic to the off-topic forums.
