Remember what I said about the ol' Republican double standard?
Wow that's a blast from the past. Didn't know you were there. I vaguely recall some drama that I didn't know all the background on, I was a mod there for a while following the blowup. The guy who ran it seemed cool, but one day it just ceased to exist, never knew what happened, I migrated over here to what was a much bigger pond and have managed to stick around in some capacity ever since.
Does a separate off-topic board for optimists fall within the formal definition of a safe space?
Example #1 of being hateful for no particular reason.
Unfortunately I do recall him and had some encounters. Awful human being, almost trumpesque.
Did you think that your thread entitled " Paging BLM and other radical protesting leftists..." was going to start some civil discourse?
I don't think that this board is too bad. I'm socially pretty liberal but there are some righties on this board who have valuable things to say and I've learned a bit from lurking around here.
I did think about making a drinking game with some of the recurring themes like...
1. Cowtown uses big words to impress us... drink!
2. Milhouse calls someone an idiot... drink!
3. Someone responds to a post by saying "and this is why the left lost the election"... drink!
4. mini tells us that he's not a racist... drink!
5. Sabach and longisland hijack a thread to talk about abortion... drink!
6. Kaiser unintentionally writes a haiku... drink!
7. Bees posts a disparaging article about Trump... forget that. We'd all be dead.
Thanks for the mega dose of hyperbole.
By the way, you can now put an entire forum on "ignore." You might want to look into it.
Good example you cited. There are definitely some here who like to toss bombs but can't take it coming back at them.
yep. That's me. hateful for no reason.
I'd say you're ready to open for bpo57.
I'm sorry I said bad things about Hillary, dasher. Will you forgive me? I forgive you for calling me a white nationalist. Now drink.
You were THAT penn st fan? Know that you are now on double secret probation.
I'm sorry Hillary lost and I couldn't care less about what you say about her or anyone else. I don't want your forgiveness. You are what you are. And I only drink water.
I don't know how you can be an SU fan and not drink ...
I drank more my sr year in high school than I have in all the years since. And I didn't drink that much then. We knew a place that God didn't know existed. But I never really liked the stuff. And Syracuse football would make me want to drink a lot more than Syracuse hoop.
omg could you possibly be a bigger tool.
Hil-de-beast, Bambi, losers
McNabb pukes a lot
"Don't like, don't read it". I agree. I don't read many of the posts because threads devolve so quickly. I would never play the "I'm offended" card because that's one of the things I hate most about the PC culture. "Don't like it? Change the channel." I guess what I'm saying is that it's so hard to 'change the channel' these days because the crap storm is everywhere. You can't tell fact from 'fake news' or opinion anymore. I see kids that have a more cynical attitude and am convinced it's the all the crap they are bombarded with each and every day. If we as adults can't sift through the crap, the kids have no chance.
We used to have Walter Cronkite, Tom Brokaw, and the like, we could turn to. News isn't news anymore.
I don't recall if there was this much open and blatant outrage against Obama when he took office in 2008. I tend to think there wasn't. Although I didn't necessarily agree with his politics, I pushed out all the electronic 'doom and gloom' and said "he's our President, and he deserves a chance to prove himself. I want him to succeed for the good of America."
I don't see any of that positive attitude anymore. We are fractured to the core. The "politics over country" attitude has become so much worse. I know my grandparent's generation never wanted to see a President fail.
