Looking to go to Vegas in the Fall once all of this is starting to get better. Any tips on hotels? We are looking for a suite preferably and we will be gambling a lot so that is also important. Thanks for any advice in advance!

If you stay at one of the strip hotels and actually play a little they will send you offers for free rooms the subsequent times.
I went for my 21st birthday.

I paid for the room at Bally’s and played all the Harrah’s places Paris/Cesear’s/Rio and I get offers for free play and free rooms every year now.

If I were you pick one of the strip places and just become a player at all their places whether it be Harrah’s property or MGM property.

I am not a huge buffet guy but the best one is at the Rio.

The buffet at the Rio is literally my favorite thing about Vegas.

I haven't been there long enough, and the short time I've been there I've been staying lowkey. Hopefully as things start moving towards whatever normal will look like, I'll have better info for you closer to fall.

I'm not sure how far they let you book, but prices right now are ridiculous. My buddy got a suite at MGM for like $200 a night, 4 bedrooms, a couple bathrooms it was insane. I spent one of my quarantines at Harrahs for $20 a night.

Seems like some good advice would be to stay at a hotel/casino in the middle of the strip. That way you can explore to both ends without too much of a struggle or needing an uber. That might just be my laziness talking lol

I havent been to either yet, but Stadium Swim needs to be on your list, as well as the mob museum.
If you're there during a football Sunday, booking a cabana or a booth at any /stadium swim should be a must.

I'm splitting my time between vegas, alaska and ny these days, but if I'm in the area I'd be down to get a little squirrly eyed with ya!

If you have any other questions, or specific places you want to know about, I'll do some recon!

not sure why it removed the word, but "booking a cabana or a booth at any 'location that takes wagers on sporting events'/stadium swim should be a must"

Also, I'm in a facebook group called "March Madness in Las Vegas" - Ton of information there, even if your trip isn't march madness related. Lots of info where to watch, where to go, all that jazz

you can stay in the middle of the strip and as CuseTroop said head up or down to look at other properties.. Prices are crazy low now but I dont think they will let you book that far out at those prices. But in looking around I dont see much difference for next few weeks vs fall prices..

Airlines should have rates now.

You can stay at the Southpoint for cheaper as well and then use the tram to get back to anypoint on the strip pretty quickly.. Some things like Mandalay are a long ways to get to walking anyway.

Circa is supposed to be pretty cool but thats downtown, but if its a fball weekend that is crazy

I appreciate it! We were looking at the bellagio currently. I think a tower suite strip view was 1000 dollars for 4 days that we really liked. We want the vibe to be like a high roller high action trip cause that’s what we want to experience really. I’ll take any advice on the best places to stay and gamble/bet at are though!

Based on my limited experience, if you're looking for that high roller feel, I think you've nailed it with the Bellagio. I think it's pretty centrally located as well.

If you have FB, follow that group I mentioned, and check it a few times during the NCAA tourney. Tons of folks will leave reviews of different casinos, resturants/books and their viewing parties. You can use the search function to seek out old reviews.

I head back down there this weekend for a month or so, and plan to do whatever exploring I can do (safely). I want to swing by stadium swim, and might try try to reserve a place to watch the SB either there, or somewhere else.

If my ol lady has her way, I'll have tons of hiking and outdoor exploring recommendations by then as well lol.

I have been to vegas a lot. First thing you do is contact a host at a casino. Tell them the part about the gambling a lot. Now, they are going to ask you about your average bet. Your answer might give them pause to comp you for a lot. But they have to be hurting so you can work out a deal. You will not pay full price whatever you do. There are too many casinos to do that and they will cut you a deal. getting a host is your first step.

By the way, I like Treasure Island until I heard that their owner was a big Trump guy. Hot tubs in every room. I love that.

Similarly, the Venetian and Palazzo are gorgeous. But Sheldon Adelson, dead or alive, isn't someone I'm entirely comfortable giving money to.

Great hiking, great food (on and off Strip; for the buffet route, the Wicked Spoon at Cosmopolitan is my favorite; off-Strip, there are some amazing Chinese and Thai restaurants in town). I'd echo the suggestion to stay mid-Strip. It's a nice enough area to see sights by walking (except at the busiest times).

5 cent Miller Lites at Margaritaville on the strip during happy hour. Give the bartender $30 when you sit down and they’ll keep em flowing for three hours. Pretty sure I spent the entire time trying to bag a 50 year old from Missouri, if you’re into that.

Eat more than In-n-Out and a slice of pizza during your stay. Go to a pool party. Don’t try the drugs dudes will offer you on the strip.

I think I peaked on my 21st

Also, if you have the time and are willing to travel a bit the Grand Canyon is the coolest thing I’ve ever seen.

Paris has a really good champagne brunch. Now would be the time to hit the Bellagio with the lower prices. Usually it's quite pricey. The Piano Bar at Harrah's is a good time. The lovely and talented Pinegar twins from Chittenango are usually the act there. It's free or a small cover if you arrive a bit later. As mentioned before, getting a card for the casinos is a good deal. Paris is part of that same group mentioned with Harrah's and Bally's. Nine Fine Irishmen at NY NY is a nice bar. Head down to Freemont Street for a taste of old Vegas. I may be heading back out there later this year depending on how things go with COVID and vaccinations. Always a good time.

What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas. I've never seen more people let loose their inhibitions.

There are some posters here who live in Missouri. Anyway.

You could, with steady driving, see Bryce Canyon, Zion National Park, and the north rim of the canyon in 2-2 1/2 days. I will second upstate: it’s amazing. I never show pictures of it, because it doesn’t translate.
If interested, we stayed about equidistant from all three in the Parry lodge, which was very cool itself, due to all to old Western movie stars who stayed there shooting movies.
