Looks like America East playing conference games only. That takes Scooby and Bingo off the table.

Could mean that is all they are releasing for now. More games could be added later.

I could be wrong but I think the CAA came out and said they are only playing conference games. Can’t imagine the Acc will play a conference only schedule since there are only five teams. Unless everyone plays twice?

If it does happen, will probably be a very weird season no matter what.

Hope we get a season for Desko to roll out the ball for.

Found these tweets by Quint interesting. Still unclear what the season will look like. Have to say I think a regional focused season makes more sense than a "conference only" season, especially when so many conferences don't make sense geographically. Posting second tweet in separate post.

Kessenich's take makes sense if present state persists through Janiuary. Regional schedule may not be as challenging for Cuse but be playoff games at end. Cuse announced their 19-20 schedule on 12/3 last year but other ACC did not announced till early to mid January . Could see AD'S currently involved in some preliminary talks with each other about formulating alternative schedules. Potentially a mish mosh but some computer model could problably produce if all inputing

"When reached for comment, a Big Ten men’s lacrosse coach said that no directive like playing a conference-only schedule had been communicated to the men’s coaches."

Interesting none the less -

Notie no Colgate and most played at Annapolis. Besides the academies , Patriot League Go is still a IF and some may eventually look for Out of Conference Play. Cuse will play Army

Game Schedule you ask?? What do we know?? Playing 6 ACC regular-season games has been approved, but without a conference tournament in 2021. How do you play 6 conference games in a 5-team league? Good question. We will have 2 games versus two of our ACC opponents (plan for now is North Carolina and Syracuse) while playing only 1 game versus the other two ACC opponents (Duke and Notre Dame). Eliminating the conference tournament is only for 2021, and is being done to reduce costs and have better preparation for each contest this season. Will we play non-ACC opponents?? The plan is Yes. Our schedule will hopefully include a typical full slate of contests from February to May. The anticipation is our schedule will be released in early January. Will you be able to attend games?? Except for family, it is very doubtful at this point. We will dearly miss having our boisterous and faithful supporters up at Klöckner Stadium and in the stands for our road games. A television schedule should be released in January as well.

You were just gonna play us in the ACC Tournament Finals anyways.

One would imagine that if we play twice it will be home-and-home. But what will they do about the other games? Will it be what would have been in 2020 or what it should be for 2021? The way our schedule is set up, ND and UNC are paired and Duke and SU are paired. We were supposed to play the N's on the road in 2020 and Duke and SU at home. Whatever they decide, 2021 will have us with 3 home and 3 away games.

Believe they said that ‘21 acc schedule would be played as it was intended, as if ‘20 schedule had played out as normal. Not sure how the two extra games are configured, that certainly is interesting way of going about things. If it’s cost saving, will they play two games in weekend?

Hope SU doesn’t have to play Duke twice, but the other ACC teams are no walk in the park. If SU plays typical 12 game schedule, and half those games are against top 10 teams, that is a tough schedule. RPI should be high (if it’s actually able to be calculated with all the weirdness) but man, that’s a lot. Curious what rest of schedule is. Army is also another tough tough game.

The men’s schedule starts March 6 and runs each Saturday through April 24, with a make-up week scheduled for May 1. It’s a single round-robin within the division, plus there are crossover games against out-of-division teams. The league season ends with some rematches of division games that will not count against the divisional standings.

The Patriot League Tournament is May 7 and 9. The exact format was unclear, and some elements were to be determined.

Multiple coaches said the Patriot League teams won’t be able to play any non-league opponents during the Patriot League span. How those are handled will likely be instutition by institution, but there will be a time squeeze to get in marquee out-of-conference games, balancing when teams arrive on campus and start practicing in February as well as the currently unknown availability of other teams, plus testing protocols.

“We are 100% looking forward to playing non-conference games and are working to compete schedules,” an administrator from a Patriot League school said.

Not sure where to put this but it looks like the NCAA has recently deemed lacrosse to be a moderate risk sport. So it should definitely be played. NY lacrosse will now be at the mercy of Cuomo.

Seems unnecessarily complicated. There are five teams in the conference. Pick a neutral site that all the programs can get to (like Annapolis) as a bubble, use Easter week, and play a round robin. Each team quarantines (including coaches and staff) for seven days prior and conducts rigorous testing. Top two teams using W-L and goal differential as a tie breaker meet up again at the end of the month for the Championship. Beyond that, let the teams pick schedules that meet their state's travel requirements.

My two cents.

BC Women's Lacrosse (member of ACC) released their schedule, it looks like a pretty normal, with little regard for geography (USC is traveling to MA) or fewer games (same amount as '20). Also looks like they are scheduled to play Dartmouth and Yale, which presumably means the Ivy League will participate in Spring sports (I had thought this was a long shot).

The Patriot League's nine men's lacrosse programs will be split into two divisions for the 2021 season. Army, Boston University, Colgate and Holy Cross will play in the North Division, and Bucknell, Lafayette, Lehigh, Loyola and Navy will play in the South Division. Teams will play each divisional opponent at least once with limited games against non-divisional opponents. A minimum of seven league games will be played by each team.

The league schedule is set to begin on Saturday, March 6, concluding on Saturday, April 24, with a built-in makeup date planned for Saturday, May 1. The 2021 Patriot League Men's Lacrosse Championship is scheduled to begin with the semifinal round on Friday, May 7, followed by the championship game on Sunday, May 9.

Reality is Cuse preparation will be behind many others given a later reassembly . Restarting asap was important this year given a longer than usual six month layoff and a shorter fall ball that included some players missing a few weeks.

Individuals can work at home but not the same as practicing together. Be little time before first practice and first game so expecting rust to show in many ways early.
