This would be a joke bracket. Denver as an 8? The only logical explanation would be the moronic travel rules and even thats a stretch here.

Agreed. The NCAA guidelines say they seed 1-8, THEN they slot teams according to the rules - one of them being the (stupid) travel restrictions.

What's the purpose of the travel rules? Save money I assume? Well either a school can afford to fund the sport or it can't.

NCAA pays for tournament travel. Any trip over 400 miles requires a plane. Trips under 400 miles can be by bus.

They try to limit the 1st round to only 2-3 plane rides. So 1st round matchups are based more on geography than rankings.
