Led lights at georgia

Considering we play in a dome and can do that whenever we want (not just night games), I think that’s a great idea.

Yep, it would be cool when the team came out but wonder if there is a safety concern

I've been to several games at Sanford Stadium over the years, awesome experience. Athens is a really cool college town. I bleed orange and Cuse is my favorite team by far but UGA has become my adopted Southern team (lots of friends down here who are UGA fans/alums).

I was blown away on Gamedays when I first moved down south. Every Chick Fil A around Metro Atlanta looks a mini UGA tailgate come Saturday mornings.

I hope we could cut a better deal than that for lights.
I actually read up on it, and while I can’t find how much UGA spent, the Atlanta Braves stadium was around $4 mil for installation, I think... however, there is a positive maintenance-cost/energy-savings component in the years following to help offset some of the initial investment.

Didn’t know they did that till last night, was watching it live on TV and thought it was really cool.

That and the lighting has to change regardless because of new roof going in. Perfect time to do the upgrade.

The new lights were actually installed by a company from Syracuse, Ephesus Lighting. I’m a Georgia grad from the Utica area and was at the game last night. It’s completely changed the dynamics of the stadium and the gameday experience. A similar lighting system would be amazing in the Dome

isnt that the same company syracuse hired? You would think that with Ephesus being a syracuse based company that they would Want to show off what they can do in the dome.

Seriously. Let the dome be Esphesus’s guinea pig.

I think this lighting is the plan for the Dome renovation.
Yes, Ephesus is the company putting in the LED lights. I would hope they will use the Dome as a showcase for what their systems are capable of. As the only P5 school that plays in a domed stadium, we have an environment no other big time football school can touch. We can and should be able to showcase this technology, even for day games.

I am hoping we take it further and buy one of the image projection systems made by Quince imaging. They normally create a custom show for a customer and rent the equipment to make it happen but a few athletic facilities have bought a system ad produce their own stuff. I think SU should do this and build some classes on how to use the equipment. This is awesome technology and if John Wildwack is looking for something special that will convince people to abandon their Lazy Boy and make the Dome a place fans have to be at for SU athletic events, this is the way to do it; SU athletic contests would be ‘must see’ events with this technology in place. It would take guts and foresight but it would energize the fan base and be a game changer.

I know John is looking for a wow factor once the facility re-open post renovation.. This brings more wow than anything else we can do.

Please check it out John!
