Maybe I'm late to the party, or missed it with all the football news going on. Any word on Lequint for next year?

I would think he is back either way

He is not a senior, but didn’t he walk on Senior Day?

I think (just my opinion) LA wants to go pro, but could be waiting for feedback from the NFL. LA may choose to go even if he’s not projected as a top draft choice.

- Could NIL $ compete with a low round NFL salary that will not be guaranteed?

- Can he improve his draft stock by staying another year? Tough runner, good hands, capable pass blocker who lacks breakaway speed.

LA is a pleasure to watch. I would love to be able to watch him represent the “S” for another season.

Go Orange!

It will be fun but there is another side of the ball. One that I am very worried about.
There are actually two other sides to the ball.

As we learned the hard way early in the season.

Hopefully the third is under control, helped by Trippin’ Woody.

I selfishly want LA to stay. It is in his best interest to go as long as he is healthy imo If pro football is his goal I can't see him improving his draft stock by staying and risking injury.

He might make close to a million here next season, versus a practice squad paycheck or a rookie minimum with no guarantee of making the pro roster.
I have no idea what LA is thinking but somehow I think he is wearing orange next year for us. I think we lose McCord (I’m not as positive as some on this board) and obviously OG.

To piggy back off my original comment. I personally think Lequint come back. Fran made it cake t he was gonna do all he could to convince him.
The likelihood is Anwar Sparrow will withdraw from the portal and return. I think the Defense could use two or three players to make it "elite" but it sounds like Fran is very confident in his secondary. He references the loss of Barnes and Bellamy in the portal(without saying names) and continued that he's bringing in bigger faster players in those positions and the competition maybhave deferred them. Demetres Samuels and Singleton will likely play immediately. One at safety (Samuels) one st CB. It is also one of our deepest position groups.

If I had to rank in order of need on Defense
1.) Linebacker
2.) DL
3.) corner back.

On Offense if Kyle, Lequint, Reed, Bradford, Petry come back - we only need one OT.

That's true and a good point but does he start being vested in his pension if he is on the practice squad?

Well said. Running backs only have so many miles on the odometer. He should go if he can, even though I'd love for him to stay. I also think Yashin is going to be an absolute mauler. We're good at RB.
