Tuned in a few mintues late so I missed the first 5 minutes.

JB sounds more upbeat then last week, will see if it lasts.

Park brought up Cornell, JB basically said the Cornell game is a no go, everything shut down, no practicing, says its hard to see it happening. Matt says they have 500+ cases on campus.

Matt with a long plug for Carrabas and you can apparently win a gift card if you show up there and take in the show or something like that (sorry I zoned out).

First commercial

Missed the first call back due to a personal call.

I believe he was answering SWC's questions about why were so bad defensively in the 2nd half. Said the team isn't getting better in the 2nd half, said were a "little slow" ( no sh$t). And that the backcourt is all new. Also placed blame on the offense saying we need to shoot better and rebound better.

Said the boards cost us against Nova. G-town scored to many points in the pain, Gate to many good looks from deep. D has to get better.

JB still talking defensive issues, said we have to help the center with the guard and forward which is opening up 3 point shooting (huh?) said FSU missed the shots when Nova didn't.

Said if were gonna be successful this year its gotta be on defense. Said the ACC overall is good even the bottom part isn't bad. Park notes the conference is down overall but that the bottom half isnt' bad.

JB notes "were not a great team", hard to win on the road at G-town. Said we did nothing with Mohammed which cost us the game. Noted two instances where Jimmy and Buddy were fouled without a call but said " that happens sometimes."

Says overall its pretty simple, we havent had a lot of practice, unknown if it will be better but looks better in practice.

Matt brings up Lehigh being bad at 1-8 and JB talks them up like were playing Duke on Saturday. Lehigh hasn't played in 11 days and woudl be 14 days for Cornell if they make it to the Dome on Tuesday.

Matt brings up Pitino openly asking for an opponent on Sat, JB chuckles and tries to say something but Matt keeps blabbing on until JB gives up and they mercifully go to commercial.

Back from a series of awful commercials.

Park talking about all of the COVID issues across sports. JB appears to have a cold as he's snorting constantly. JB worried about after break with students going home for break and then bringing it back to campus. JB talks about the new variant being more transmitable and with students out and about and just 1 guy could spread it around.

Says years ago 6 guys out of 10 had the flu and they played no problem and the flu they had was worse then COVID. Says COVID mostly kills elderly people but doesn't know what you can do about it ( not sure where he was going there).

Park asks whats the line where you have to cancel, JB says if you have 5 you have to go or its a forfeit. Says if if your down 3 starters versus Duke are you really gonna wanna play that game? Is not a fan of the current rule where you have to play even if missing multiple guys. Says things could get difficult and dicey even with the whole team vaccinated.

Update Duke being up over App State.

Josh from Boulder CO calls in, again an awful echo from the A+ production team.

Josh says that Girard looked like the only guy who wanted to win at the end of the game last Sat and what JB thinks of him taking a leadership role. JB recaps the end of the game and says they all want to score, says they all want to do the right thing an overall they are getting good shots. Said defense is the issue, "stats scream it, you dont' have to think about it"

JB appreciates the support and Josh being a good fan despite the echo

Matt talks about Girard and Buddy having good FT% and SU wanting to get to the line more. JB again says Buddy was fouled at G-town but no call, said he can't go two games without a FT, he was definitely fouled. Matt goes to commercial.

Back from commerical

Talking about Oshae and getting good run recently, averaging 8 and 5 recently. Said he's playing well again and is in good position if he can keep it up.

Matt plugs Agway energy

Matt brings up Duany AO Siekaly, and several other SU guys that were at the game last sat, Sherm and CJ were there apparently as well. JB has to correct Matt who left out several SU alumni who were there. JB says it was a good win for G-town and that both teams needed teh win and that SU brought the crowd to 14 K when they normally get 4 or 5K.

Move on to Lehigh, says the record doesn't show it but they have been competitive an lead Rutgers late (not saying much).

Says there are a lot of pretty good teams throughout the country.
Park seems like he's stalling for a call or something, keeps jumping all around now talking about the SU women after talking about Lehigh. JB makes some positive comments on the womens team. Matt then breaks down their upcoming schedule for some unknown reason.

Off to commercial, Matt promotes they will talk NIL next.

JB with a big statement on the NIL, way to much to recap but seems undecided on it. Says the current set up is not the right way. Says it will all be manufactured deals and that in a few years it will just be the top guys promoting a company on their Instagram. He had some other good thoughts including a reference to communism but I was distracted by the dog, SWC should have it in his recap.

Back from commercial, Matt talks about Steph Curry and JB calls him amazing and has some more positive comments on Steph. Says he makes the hardest shots. Says he can make them form anywhere, 3 or 4 feet beyond the line. Says overall there is a lot more 3 poitn shooting, says Anthony Edwards had 10 last night. More positive comments on Steph and Park brings up the twitter post that showed all of his 3's over the course of his career. More comments on Steph, (clearly stalling to waste time at this point). Park compares him to Babe Ruth, JB says he is on the right team as they don't play with a center so he can do things other guys cant.

Matt asks JB's opinion on Urban Meyer and if the stigma is correct about college coaches being unable to coach in the Pros. JB says his problems started outside the football world, says Jville was really bad the year before and starts to answer more but the fight song starts blaring and he start's getting drowned out.

Matt thanks everyone and says for those listening locally you can hear coach and Gomez for another half & hour. (I don't get paid so I'll pass)

JB’s takes on Covid have been consistently horrid

Gomez starts off talking about the temp today being 67, JB says sarcastically "and there's no global warming". Claims he can't remember it being above 45 in December the last 20 years (this is very much false). More talk about weather and JB reminiscing about sometime it was zero or below 20 days straight. Says one year on Oct 15th on his way to practice there was a foot of snow on the ground (hopefully no one fact checks him).

Gomez asks JB about the game and his thoughts - JB says they started off slow in the 2nd half, dropped a passed and missed a shot and the game went down to the wire. Says overall D has not been good enough. Numbers are decent on O, but Cole and Buddy need to shoot a little better. Overall offensively getting the movement despite playing really good defensive teams.

Emphasizes again the problem is Defense, not forcing enough turnovers and giving up rebounds "a few to many" Says entire front line has to be better. IF we were playing prett good D and still struggling we would be in trouble.

Gomez says team isn't physical enough and JB agrees says we have finesse players, says we don't have physical tough guys. Says Marek was a physical guy despite his weight. Says Joe and Buddy are somewhat physical but not a lot.

Mention some of the tough guys in years past Griffin(brought himself up to Gomez apparently), AO, Melo etc.

Gomez brings up inability to have multiple consecutive practices, JB says Bahamas alone can get the team out of shape as some guys will barely play over the 3 days (the irony my god).

Says they only had 7 days of practice over 16-18 days with the Bahamas, FSU, NYC and Gtown. Hopes things have gotten better over the course of this week. Goes to commerical.

Another 15 min left but I'm tapping out here as Runner would say.

So you are takaing SWC's long time position as summary poster for JB's show? SMH

He said that the frontcourt was new, not the backcourt. And Georgetown did score a lot of points in our 'pain'. My big takeaway is that as enthusiastic as we are about Jesse Edwards' scoring, our defense at the center position is still not very good.

He said that NIL "is not socialism", meaning that it's unregulated.

He does a pretty good job and it's entertaining. It's just different techniques. I scribble notes and then assemble my report from what I can read of my own writing, sometimes re-arranging statements that relate to the same subject but were said at different times or in a different order. (Much of that tonight). Jeremy is trying to type as it's being said, which is more difficult.

Thanks your right, I kept reading it back thinking he said something besides communism but couldn't recall exactly what.

It’s laughable saying Buddy is even a little bit physical. He avoids contact. He hasn’t been to the line in three games.

Of all the things to complain about on defense and he picks the center.
