We are going to England for a week. I would like to leave London for a day or 2 and get to Paris.
Any suggestions on the best way to travel.
Would planning the Louvre, Eiffel tower, and perhaps Notre Dame. Any other must see place in Paris proper.

Can probably catch a Ryan Air flight for like 20 bucks each way. Its similar to our cheap airlines vut just make sure to pay the extra 5 bucks or whatever for priority boarding and its fine.

The priority boarding, seat selection and make sure that your luggage will fit.

Ryan Air = Greyhound bus with wings.

Take the Eurostar. May be a bit more expensive than the flight but you also won't have to waste a lot of time/money getting yourself to and from the airports. A taxi from Charles de Gaulle airport to Paris is 50 euros one way. The Eurostar takes you from Euston Station to Gare du Nord in the center of Paris in about 2 hours. It's nearly always on time.

I find it minimally different than Spirit/Frontier/Allegiant. I usually consider them to be flying Walmarts but Greyhound makes sense too.

I've actually found Ryanair to be moderately better than many of the budget carriers in the EU such as Wow, Wizzair etc... With that said, it's like comparing the quality of Burger King, McDonalds and Wendy's.

One carrier I've only flown once in the EU is Aer Lingus. How'd people find that to me vs Ryanair?

For the OP: Check out flight options using Kiwi.com. However DO NOT book through this site. Use it as a guide to find flights and options and then book directly through their websites. Kiwi's connection "guarantees" are quite meaningless and ticketing is a gigantic pain.

Think I flew with them once to Ireland and think it was fine. Don't remember anything positive or negative. Taking a flight from Dublin to Budapest for a few days in May on Ryan. Couldn't beat it for like $100/person rt.

Agree here on Eurostar. My experience with Ryan is that they will nickel and dime you on every little thing. If you take them make sure you follow every little rule, or you will get slammed.

Yup. 10 euros if you forgot to print out your boarding pass!

Yes, and make sure your bag is not 1 oz. overweight. I saw a woman throwing clothes in the garbage and putting on extra shirts to avoid the charge. I had time, so it was like in airport entertainment.

People are idiots for not being prepared for that. Friggin' flying around the world for $20 a pop.

To be fair, if you're a EU citizen, you don't have to print out your boarding pass. It seems to me a ploy to fleece American and now increasingly Chinese "idiots" visiting Europe. There's no other logic that I can see behind it.

Spirit and Allegiant do the same thing here. Imagine Frontier probably does too. My wife was in Morocco for 4 months. I got her RT flights from Fez to Bordeaux, Venice and Turin each for under $70rt and I think Turin was actually like $35. It's worth getting slapped in the face in line and then sitting on the floor for that price.

I agree on this, but the width and the height of the bag are more important. I've been consistently 5kg overweight on my luggage, but I am fine (but it always fits into that cage they use to check)

I agree with Eurostar as well. I've never had issues with the low cost airlines and the tricky little fees, but I buy the tiny bags and deal with it. Still, if the price is reasonably close - go with the train. Everything about it is less of a hassle leaving from London. EVERYTHING. St. Pancras, and boom...Paris.

Eiffel Tower sucks. Skip it! Do you want to go up it? :) Paris is amazing though - and you can definitely see all three of those things quite easily in two days.

No clue what your interests are - catacombs are an option, escorts are reasonably priced, the Arc is an easy walk from that Eiffel thing, Luxembourgh Gardens...you'll wish you went for more than 2 days. London is amazing though as well. Have fun!!! :)

Reasonably priced escorts? Now we're talking...

Wifey might not like the escorts. My 18 YO son might, though.
