Going to assume that players that can comeback will comeback. Not sure beyond Cisco who would be declaring for the draft from the guys that are here today. Maybe Williams, but that's it. I think Elmore can be a swiss army guy free agent, but I don't he gets drafted.

Including current commitments.

Starting with the DL - obviously Williams and Black will evaluate their next steps and determine if they want to spend another year here.

None of these guys address the problem of a lack of a two gap nose on the roster. Probably the only route is JUCO or transfer.

LB's - potential to be a real strength for the next three years at least. Ability to roll two lines out there, which is complementary to the way they want to play offense. Kids need to get stronger and stay on the field.

DB's - going to assume IM and Trill come back, but that is TBD. Good size in the back end. Could see Chestnut getting in the rotation at corner from the jump.

OL - I don't believe there is a need to got outside of this group assuming if guys can come back healthy.

Solidifying the guards spots would raise the level of play across the board. That being said every spot should be open.

I think the OL could actually be pretty strong next year. We would add Bleich, and assuming Servais comes back, Bleich/D. Davis/Vettorello/Bergeron/Servais is a pretty solid starting unit. If we subbed one of them out for a high end Grad Transfer, we could realistically have a top 3-4 starting unit in the ACC which is pretty remarkable considering where we've been.

The next layer would include Tisdale, IIaoa and Red which gives us some flexibility, and plus with the 5 freshman coming in...I think things could really turn around here.

QB and RB. I think it's essential for any chance at success next year that Devito comes back. I'd hate to see a restart there. There's always a chance that Rex kills the audition, but I'm not counting on that. Also why it's essential that the freshmen extended snaps to see what potential is there.

RB - assume Elmore comes back and goes back to his FB/TE role. Jordan and Tucker are different enough that I would call them co-ones to fill different jobs. Think Hough takes the Howard slot as the third back.

TE's and WR's

TE - I get it, they don't use the TE's, blah, blah, blah. Really hope Hackett comes back.

WR - Crazyeyes is a solid and productive player, but he needs to be wide open and his catch radius doesn't seem all that great. Would like to see NJ come back as the primary returner and 5th WR.

Another unit where every spot should be open for competition, including the incoming recruits being able to win jobs.

can't Rex come back if we want him to?

can't Rex come back if we want him to?

Absolutely, but he's in the same group as Servais, M Williams, and Black, does he want to come back for a sixth year, only he would likely be the backup unless he kills it and Tommy doesn't return.

I think Servais moves on with his life and they enter the market for a transfer OT

For this team to be any good, we need a QB who can consistently complete passes and an O-line that can block. I said both of those spots would be strengths this year. I was wrong. Lastly who does/does not come back on the Dline is huge.

I'm hopeful the injury bug won't bite us next season like it has this year. Assuming it does not, I expect a 180 for the Oline.

I'm praying TD puts it together like I've thought he could for 2 seasons now, or that Markiwiecz or Lamson is more than capable. If we have a capable QB, we have the potential for a good season. If we don't, it will be another long year.

If all 3 of our starting Dlinemen choose not to take the extra year, we look awfully thin. Not that they've been overly impressive, but they offer experience, depth and leadership.

I think from everything I saw there is a lot of good young talent on this team! If certain things come together and certain players veterans stick around we have the potential to be a pretty good middle of the ACC team. I can’t say anything more than that because I’m just basing it on their potential but this teams Young talent is intriguing and the facilities are only going to help that in the future

Very possible. I think there are some really sold upgrade options on the Grad Transfer market at OT for us. I still think the offensive line could be a real surprise next year as to how quickly it could turn around.

Thanks for compiling those lists GoSU96 Very helpful.

To me, the lack of size at defensive tackle, especially if Williams and Black do not return, is a major roster issue headed into 2021. Conversely, the size, experience, and depth returning on the OL looks like it could be the strength of the team next season. That's not a bad place to start.

Would like to see immediate help brought in at DT, WR, and maybe OG. But there's still good young talent at all those positions. Just need to not be forced to play younger players too early like we did at OL last year and at CB/LB this year.

I like most of you analysis but have to disagree on ol. I think we have to really hit the transfer portal for immediate depth and improvements.

I think one player in particular that could emerge and automatically show up as a starting tackle on the spring two-deep is Garth Barclay.

Currently 6-7, 270 lbs and got into the GT game. Another offseason hopefully gets him up to 290 lbs and then I think the sky is the limit.

Couple more things.

people will also be transferring. I feel more on O than D. The O been very bad but we do not see the rotations like we do on D unless there is an injury. Williams will also declare.

I would not sleep on one of the freshman. There are seven games left. No idea how they will play when given an opportunity. Also lamson could immediately step up. Could also see a transfer qbs.

Thanks for putting these lists together ... really helpful to have all the position groups in one thread. But as to this LB group ... probably the biggest, fastest and deepest bunch I've seen at SU in 20 years. We've had some good ones, certainly Franklin and Bennett in '17 (Edit) with Richards, Shy and Guthrie behind them. But Jones, C-A, Thompson, Richards, Linton, Kpogba and Wax ... that's a bevy of quality guys ... with 3 more coming in. The future is bright. If only we could add a couple of big, nasty nose guards to keep the linemen off them, either by developing someone like Rondi (or down the road Fuentes and Geer) or adding 1-2 from GT/JUCO ranks. We're just flat out too small on the DL.

He should come back just to shatter the all time starts record.
