Potential 2023 Roster

Add Princeton or Loyola while keeping MD. Great opponents, but also fertile recruiting areas. Princeton and Loyola also have nice stadiums and good tailgating.

If you're an old-timer, back in the Pre-Big East days we played Princeton and Loyola every year.

Twenty-two members of the Syracuse men's lacrosse program will be honored prior to Sunday's game. As is tradition, players typically walk with their class on senior day. Due to additional COVID eligibility waivers and redshirts and past senior day cancellations, this year's senior day will feature all fourth, fifth and six year players in the program, even though some may have remaining eligibility (recruiting classes of '16, '17, and '18).

The ceremony will take place prior to the game, so fans are encouraged to arrive early to salute the seniors.

Basil Aburn, Mikey Berkman, Brett Barlow, Jacob Buttermore, Griffin Cook, Brendan Curry, Nick DiPietro, Tucker Dordevic, Nick Hapney, Cole Horan, Shahé Katchadurian, Brett Kennedy, Jack Kennedy, Matt Magnan, Grant Murphy, Dami Oladunmoye, Jakob Phaup, Lucas Quinn, Owen Seebold and Jerry Staats are the 20 players who'll partake, plus senior manager Will Findlay and Team IMPACT teammate Gaven Bort.

Soooo, we can assume I was correct and this is the news that Molloy and Ossello were referencing??

Jack Savage is in the portal

Showed a little as frosh but clearly the new staff was not a fan based on his complete lack of playing time the rest of the year. He was originally a Rutty commit, don't be suprrised if he ends up there or Utah.

Tough for Savage. Fogo has to be the toughest nut to crack when it comes to playing time. If Ierlan wasn't pushing for playing time, have to think it is clearly best to move on.

Garlow went to Richmond and had limited playing time behind a strong freshman.

If we lose like a large chunk of our young guys then this thing is off the rails. That's not making room thats making sure next season is a failure. We are losing a boatload of seniors on offense as it is. If his attitude with the players is enough where a good chunk of our young guys who have not reached their ceiling yet bail, then his tone with the team was 100% not worth it and should have been held in check. Who the hell plays offense next year if we lose a good chunk of young guys?

Fully expect SU to bring in at least one if not 2 transfer FOGO's. I also wouldn't be surprised if SU took in a JUCO kid or a late recruit as well who was a FOGO.

Would love to know what’s up with Mullins from UNC

A different perspective/closing thoughts on the season

It’s easy to get caught up in the press and get too bought into what players and parents say . I’m a guilty party

But the truth is , with time and perspective , we come back to what we knew all along .

This was a :500 team even with Hiltz . Maybe a :600 team . Many of us had the program somewhere between 4-6 wins ..maybe 5-7 on the outside before the season even started.

We beat Duke came extremely close to taking down both UNC snd Cornell and had the 2nd closest chance to taking down Maryland vs every other team they played.

So when all of the noise quiets down - was the season a actually a success given what we were working with /all things considered ?

I think what got everyone many of us off kilter ( was the seemingly disengaged Gait . His demeanor somehow fed into the belief that we could have performed better.

While we don’t like it, not sure if would have made a world of difference in the outcome but everyone would have felt better about it if he didn’t seem so cavalier

So let’s see where things go from here
