Sorry I don't have the link, I opened it on Twitter on my phone.

Anyway, he has us at 2 of course, but more interesting, he calls Ennis the "co-MVP of the freshman class along with Jabari Parker."

That's maybe the highest praise I've seen, his being listed above Wiggins, Embiid, Randle...

over at ESPN, Bilas and Goodman both have Parker and Randle on their midseason All American team, but each also make a strong case for Ennis as Freshman of the Year, which I assume would make him a 2nd Team AA

Which freshman has played the best so far this season?
Bilas: Since I put Parker and Randle on my midseason All-America team, it has to be Parker and Randle. But the freshman outside of the Fab Four of our Freshman Focus has been Syracuse's Tyler Ennis. Ennis is unflappable, plays with great pace and makes terrific decisions. He is excellent on the defensive end and does a great job of anticipating and getting deflections and steals. Ennis is the best rookie point guard in the country.

Goodman: One week ago, this was an easy answer with Duke's Parker. Even though he has struggled the past two games and was benched in crunch time in the loss to Notre Dame, I'm sticking with Parker in a close call with Kentucky's Randle and Syracuse's Ennis. All three have been tremendous. Parker needs to improve his play on the defensive end, but the same can be said about Randle and Ennis (whose defensive play is somewhat hidden in the 2-3 zone).

Parker is obviously extremely talented, but how can anyone take him over Ennis as a mid season All- American when in the past 2 games, he has been benched during keys stretches and late game situations? Can you imagine Ennis on the bench during a late game situation? It would be a disaster!

His ppg may not be as impressive, but it's the role he plays for this team that makes him more valuable than almost any player in the country right now. Even when he's struggling to score (and I use the term struggle very lightly), Ennis contributes in every other facet of the game. But when we need him to score, he usually does. Those stats compiled by Luke Wynn are eye-popping though!

Interesting chart.

While Scoop might have nominally been at the point for 3 seasons, SU played much more of a "point-guard-by-committee" during that stretch, with Triche and, to a lesser extent, Waiters, handling the ball for significant periods. Flynn, MCW and now Ennis have totally dominated the play-making in each of their listed years.
