Watching what i saw here last night, am i the only guy who feels Kyle is staring down his recievers and throwing it to them whether they are open or not. He didnt scan field at all when he had time not that he had much of that either. I knew they were coming after him all gme which they did and as usual our oline helped them tremendously. There were a few times he had time to run thru progressions but he didnt even try. wonder if they picked that up in tape.

We are running a bunch of choice routes,

We have lived with the WRs and him being on the same page and when Pena/Gasden are not playing some of that goes away.

I think this is my biggest concern with Kyle, and I've said it long before this game. He DOES have a tendency to stare down a receiver/route. He doesn't do it every passing play, but he does it enough to expose the tendency. Defenses can key off of that.

McCord has been terrific this year and the best qb we have had in over a decade. However he has had a huge number of near interceptions. His decision making finally bit him in the ass. There have been too many throws were he decided where he was going before the play started and forced something that wasn't there. The screen pass that lead to the third pick 6 is a perfect example of that. He also has thrown near picks to the sideline all season and last night Pitt was clearly prepared to take advantage of that.

That first INT return, just stared at Pena, very easy pick 6 for an aggressive D waiting for it and timing the jump.

With the amount of pressure on him I don’t see how McCord can be faulted for keeping eyes on one receiver. Very little time to check down. Good defensive scheme. I hope we use it one day …

Beensaying it all yearlol

I love Kyle. I have tremendous respect for his game and QB play. If we can protect him properly and provide solid options to receive the ball, he's incredibly efficient and dangerous. The issue for Cuse as a program is that we tend not to have the oline that will allow a great passing QB the ability to cook.

That is why, as much as I love Kyle, think we need to go with mobile quarterbacks because they're able to mask offensive issues. I miss the McNabb option play.

Blame the coach, blame the QB, but the reality is you can't beat very good teams nor win games against teams with very good defensive lines with our offensive line units. Maybe McCord did rush things, but can you really blame him? The few times he had time I'm sure he didn't expect to. As others have said, he did make some very bad decisions. Our line is very bad.

He had this tendency since OSU. I (Unfortunately) watched a lot of OSU games before he came to Cuse. The trick against Kyle is to blitz the heck out of it so he panics and only checks one read. If he has time he can scan more. Combined with our terrible Oline and some bad luck we got what we got in the INTs.

He’s been great for us, but I was not surprised he had a stinker last night.

Under pressure he is not great, even the first few plays against Ohio with the “new team first snaps” pressure should have been picks.

I think I mentioned the staring down recievers thing one time earlier in the season. It's how some of the dropped INTs were nearly INTs, but the stat nerds wanted ro pretend he's perfect. I think it was worse last night because it was the most pressure he's seen and I think he was trying to decide where he was going with the ball presnap because he knew he wouldn't have much time afterward. Mullin pointed out a few times that he did it.

He has flaws but we dont win more than possibly 2 games without him.

Agree

1.8 million dollar man was exposed big time last night.
Did people actually watch the game? Yeah, he made some what's-he-thinking throws, but he was under constant pressure, with no running game to speak of, with WRs that had DBs in their back pockets all night. The people ripping him are just as dumb as the people that tried to say he was our best QB ever.

Our OFFENSE got exposed big time last night. The thing is, for anyone paying attention, it was stuff that had been obvious in other games if you looked at the games and not just the stats. The offensive line has not been a strength. McCord getting the ball out quickly has made them look better than they are, and they never get push in the run game. People pointed it out against Ohio. Since losing Haynes, the WRs haven't looked as good because we don't have another deep threat. And McCord has had a few what's-he-thinking throws mixed in with a crap load of great throws.

McCord and the receivers have carried us ...The O line sucks ...left side guy is big and really slow and the right tackle is tall and really slow...no lateral movement... watch them...McCord has about three seconds to get rid of the ball... and they can't run block ...did you see any holes for Allen last night? I hope Fran hunts the transfer portal for some O lineman...our biggest weakness and Pitt knew it

Cant dis agree. We cant not have an oline.
