McCord

Would he have run that last play against the Lions with 15 seconds left in college rather than 5 seconds left in the pros.
Haha. Probably. Gotta snap that a lot sooner if you're not taking a timeout. The head coach probably should've called timeout immediately after the sack. That gives them plenty off time to run a play, run to the line, and spike the ball if you get the first down. If you don't, you have the kicking team ready to sprint on field and get a kick off.

Why is the Senior Bowl as better showcase for the pros than playing in a bowl game?
I think it’s more about the practices that lead up to the game more than the game.NFL coaches lead it and you can really show off if you are NFL material. For some reason the NFL guys put a lot of stock in it.

Is the East/West Shrine run by NFL coaches? That's the one McCord is in.

Yup. They watch for a lot of the behind the scenes stuff. Which guys are taking things seriously, who are the natural leaders and followers, which guys get along. It's possible the on field stuff matters less unless a guy really pops.

You are also practicing all week against NFL type talent and you don’t always get that in a regular season or Bowl game.NFL coaches also love to see your practice habits.

(I assume you mean passer)

Ward, off of this season's numbers:
Completion percentage: Ward .672 McCord .655
Yards per completion: Ward 14.1 McCord 11.6
Yards per attempt: Ward 9.5 McCord 7.6
Touchdown Passes Ward 34 McCord 26
Interceptions Ward 7 McCord 12
QB rating Ward 171.2 McCord 140.7

I decided to look at their numbers last season when McCord, (at Ohio State) would have had the better offensive line and running game, as well as Marvin Harrison Jr. to throw to:
Completion percentage: Ward .666 McCord .658
Yards per completion: Ward 11.6 McCord 13.8
Yards per attempt: Ward 7.7 McCord 9.1
Touchdown Passes Ward 25 McCord 24
Interceptions Ward 7 McCord 6
QB rating Ward 145.4 McCord 161.6

So, obviously, those things matter. Ward was more like McCord this year when he was a Cougar but McCord last year wasn't quite what Ward has been this year. Both are great QBs who will be playing on Sunday next year. Our problem is that the one thing we're good at might not be in our favor in this game.
If Kyle was still at O$U putting up these numbers he'd be a 1st rounder. He is going to blow away evaluators when he interviews with them. As talented as he is physically, it's his football acumen that separates him from most other QB's. He has a great instinctual feel for playing the position.
