Melo I back in Knicks lineup

I hate to say it, but MyManMelo needs to stop taking so many 20 foot jump shots without passing the ball around first. Amare and others look like they want to strange Melo sometimes.

1000% agree-Just kills ball movement. He scores points, but takes way too many bad shots.

Whats strange Melo? I have heard of the stranger when you sit on your hand ... anyways just giving you a hard time

It's why he'll never be mentioned in the Lebron, Wade, Durant etc.. discussions of truly elite players. Settles for long jumpers entirely too much. The Knicks don't have a lot of scoring options, but he has to limit his jumpers and find other ways to score.

Knicks lose again, Melo goes 9-27 from the floor. Horrible down the stretch. As a Melo and Knick fan, this team is getting harder and harder to watch.

He needs a true point guard so he can do his thing on the inside more. This point -forward gig keeps him outside where he's more tempted to jack it up. Baron Davis may be ready sooner than expected. I've heard as early as next week.

He had true pg's in Denver and his story has generally been the same. Melo requires isolation...so I don't think a point guard is quite as important to him. The Knicks feed him very well in the post and everywhere else. Melo just needs to improve his shot selection and use the double teams to his teams advantage and PASS the ball to the open teammate.

Amare needs isolation as well, so this is just a strange marriage on the Knicks. I dont think it will ever work.

I fear they overpaid for both Melo and Stoudamire and will be crippled to really fix their roster going forward. Like you said, I don't think Melo and Amare can play off each other--not sure how much or what they could get for Amare, but it's something I would ponder if in the NYK front office.

As a Knick fan, if you could roll back the clock would you have stuck with Gallinari and gone in the direction they were headed in?

Not really an NBA guy, but I might have. There biggest mistake was signing Amare for as much they did--talented guy, but his game at this point doesn't warrant that kind of pay.

The Knicks are close to looking like a nightmare if Baron Davis doesn't spark them. I'm not sure how many GMs would trade their current team situation for the Knicks situation. They are built to be competitive like the Atlanta Hawks, but you know there is a clear ceiling there. They also don't have a lot of financial wiggle room.

They are just not anywhere near the Heat or Bulls in the East over the next 2-3 seasons.

I hate to say it, but Melo seems to have a low basketball IQ. He knows HIS game but he doesnt know THE game. Seem like a more talented version of Big Dog...who didnt win a title until he was the 9th guy off the bench for the Spurs.

Took the family to the game today...just simply zero atmosphere compared to college games...Melo started off nicely..had several assists early on and was consistently getting to the line...but the fourth quarter became a jack-fest...

The Knicks also play zero D...they couldn't get a stop to save their lives today...

Seeing the Knicks the Cuse yesterday, it's amazing how much better the Cuse is coached

Looking back on it now, I would've tried to see if N.O. would bite for Paul, and if not, go for Deron Williams who was traded to the Nets the next day for less.

The defense hasn't been that bad overall this year, though there have been some terrible individual games. T he offense has been the issue.

They definitely need a PG. They need to blend Amare and Melo's skillsets together. The back court right now is pretty terrible. Melo and Amare both need the ball to impact games. It was never a great fit, but they aren't a below 500 team either, I don't think. (Then again, they were below 500 after the trade last year)

Definitley would've been better off if Dolan hadn't just given up every asset they had for Melo. He could've come here as a FA, or maybe they could;ve gotten Deron (though he has been pretty bad this year).

Knicks 411 - How will a PG help? They have a clogged lane and a bunch of guys who need iso's to be effective.

The only guy who really thrives with iso's is Melo. Amare is a million times more effective when he is in a pick and roll game.

Their offense, post Melo trade last year, was really good. I think it was top 5, and I vaguely remember reading it was #1 after adjusting for schedule.

Amare aint right. Problem is everyone else knows it too. Trying to trade him will be impossible. Definitely need a big pg.

I think the biggest problem is Amare isn't a one on one player. He's at his best when he's in the pnr. But he thinks he can do the one on one stuff, and it just leads to too many TO.

But yeah, also the jumper isn't falling right now either. I wonder, could the bakc still be an issue?

He looks really stiff to me. I am more concerned it is his knees. I have never liked his game honestly (even when in PHX). The only chance Knicks have is if they can somehow swing a deal for Nash.

He's a FA after the year. Maybe 2 years at the mid level gets it done. (Fingers crossed...)

they still need to do something with the frontline though. its broke.
