SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The momentum is building for Orange head football coach Dino Babers' Syracuse debut and the start of the 2016 Orange football season. More than 2,700 new season tickets have been sold as of late last week. Lower-level season tickets in the end zones are still available for $125. The 2016 campaign will feature a multitude of celebrations and themes to engage the community. Brief descriptions of the events surrounding each of this year's home dates are below:

Babers' Debut Aligns with Upstate Celebration – Syracuse vs. Colgate – Sept. 2
The new era of Syracuse football kicks off with an Upstate Celebration Weekend. Babers' #OrangeIsTheNewFast program will make its first impression on Orange Nation and young football players in the area on the first of two youth football days this season. All youth football teams are invited to attend the game in their team jerseys. The first 10 teams to register and purchase tickets will have an opportunity for a pre-game experience. All teams are invited to Youth Football Night on the Quad and to pose on the Carrier Dome turf for a team photo. As part of the Labor Day weekend kickoff, Upstate New York businesses are invited to start the holiday weekend with the Orange with special pre-game events and business networking opportunities.

The first 5,000 fans receive a 2016 football schedule magnet courtesy of the Syracuse Marriott Downtown (www.marriottsyracusedowntown.com).

'Orange Out' and 'Medical Appreciation Night' – Syracuse vs. Louisville – Sept. 9
Orange will be the color of the day when the Syracuse football team hosts Louisville in its Atlantic Coast Conference opener. Fans are encouraged to wear their favorite orange 'Cuse gear for an 'Orange Out' against the Cardinals on 'Medical Appreciation Night.' Syracuse will honor of all members of the medical profession for their dedication to keeping our communities healthy. A special group ticket rate is available for doctors, nurses, hospital employees, and all other medical professionals and office groups (call 888-DOMETIX to participate). All fans in attendance will receive a complimentary set of Syracuse pom-poms.

Celebrate Education! – Syracuse vs. USF – Sept. 17
Orange Nation is invited to celebrate 'Education Day' during the Orange Central Weekend football game against USF. 'Education Day' is an opportunity for teachers, educators and students in the community to rejoice in the opening of school. Part of the celebration will be the start of 'Otto's Reading Kickoff presented by Driver's Village,' which rewards academic excellence in our local schools. 'Otto's Reading Kickoff presented by Driver's Village' offers free tickets to students who meet their school's qualifying standard. The high-achieving students will be honored during Syracuse's game against Florida State on Nov. 19. To sign up for 'Otto's Reading Kickoff presented by Driver's Village,' school officials should call 888-DOMETIX.

'Cheer and Dance Day' – Syracuse vs. Virginia Tech – Oct. 15
When the Syracuse football team rekindles its rivalry with Virginia Tech, the Orange will have additional support in the in the form of area cheerleading and dance teams as part of 'Cheer and Dance Day.' The Syracuse University Cheerleaders and Lady Orange Dancers will host a clinic on the Quad prior to the game. All in attendance will learn Syracuse cheers and a routine during the clinic. The first 300 participants to sign up will join the Syracuse Cheerleaders and Lady Orange Dancers on the field at halftime and help pump up the crowd prior to the start of the second half. Participants in the 'Cheer and Dance Day' clinic will sit in an exclusive seating area and help excite the Syracuse faithful throughout the game. Pom-poms and a 'Cheer and Dance Day' t-shirt will be distributed to the participants.

All Otto's Kids Club members in attendance when the Orange will be invited to participate in a group photo on the field after the game.

'Military Appreciation and Scout Day' – Syracuse vs. North Carolina State – Nov. 12
The Orange take on NC State on 'Military Appreciation Day' and 'Scout Day'. As part of the 'Cuse for the Troops' campaign, active military members, veterans, and their families who qualify will receive complimentary tickets to watch the Orange and Wolfpack. For $20 fans can sponsor one ticket for a member of our armed services. Call 888-DOMETIX to participate. Details regarding how active military personnel and veterans can sign-up to receive their complimentary tickets will be released at a later date.

In addition, the Orange will host members of the Boy and Girl Scouts. Scout leaders are encouraged to register their troops and the first 250 scouts to sign up will receive a participation badge. There will also be scavenger hunt for scouts in the Carrier Dome.

Senior Sendoff and 'Band Day' – Syracuse vs. Florida State – Nov. 19
Area high school marching bands are invited to salute the Orange seniors as part of 'Band Day' for the home finale against Florida State. The first 15 high school bands to sign up will participate in a pre-game performance on the Quad and a halftime performance on the field with the Syracuse University Marching Band – the "Pride of the Orange." Pre- and post-game snacks will be provided and participants also receive a 'Band Day' t-shirt. High school band directors can call 888-DOMETIX now to register their band and receive a game itinerary and music.

In addition to recognizing the team's senior student-athletes before the game, Syracuse Athletics will also honor "seniors" in our community. High school seniors (groups of 15+) are encouraged to help "fill in" for Syracuse University students on break. The game is also an excellent opportunity for senior citizen groups to host any of their annual events at the Carrier Dome.

The final home game of 2016 is also the second opportunity for area youth teams to receive a unique game-day experience. The first 10 youth teams to sign up will be invited down on the field prior to the contest. Following the game there will be opportunities to take photos of your team on the field.

Participants in 'Otto's Reading Kickoff presented by Driver's Village' who meet their school's qualifying standard will each receive one complimentary ticket to watch the Orange and Seminoles. The deadline for educators to the submit their number of qualified students is Oct. 15. Schools and students in attendance will be recognized and invited down to the field for a post-game photo. The school with the most representatives will receive a special prize.

New Seating Area for Recent Grads
All recent graduates of Syracuse University have a special invitation from their alma mater – enjoy all the Orange action in the Carrier Dome at a discounted price in a designated seating location. Football season tickets for the Syracuse classes of 2012 through 2016 are just $100 and will be located in Section 108, which is adjacent to the student section. The price for each package includes an Orange Club preferred donation for the opportunity to start building priority points, which determine eligibility for tickets to postseason games and tournaments. Seat locations are guaranteed at the same price for the first five years out of school provided they are renewed each year.
