Way to go, Mookie

Also...the fact that he can sign a 10 day (no disrespect to Mookie) should answer the question to anyone suggesting the Fab will go in the 2nd round. Literally 0 chance.

fab will be closer to 15th than he will to 31st.

mookie, please - put 1/2 of this contract (~30k) in the bank. please.

Was there any reason cited for this? I think it's great...but it's kind of random isn't it? Was he playing Greece or France at one point?

44cuse

Is this the definition of tanking? Hornets DNPs tonight:

PG Jarrett Jack
SG Eric Gordon
SF Trevor Ariva
C Kris Kaman
C Emeka Okafor

Lol thats pretty much their entire starting lineup

20 minutes, 8 rebounds

Mookie Watkins has million dollar athleticism and the tools to be a defensive specialist at the NBA level. Unfortunately, he also has a 10 cent low post game offensively. But it is great to see him get a sniff. Would love to see him catch on and earn a paycheck as a journeyman big man in the NBA.

13 boards--not a bad debut.

TANK-A-PALOOZA BABY!
It's funny because teams are playing rookies and 3rd stringers to try to lose, while these guys are trying to win and get as many points, for their next contract.

Golden State starting 4 rookies against the Lakers.
Golden State is in a situation that their first round pick is protected if they finish with one of the seven worst records in the league. Otherwise they owe it to Utah. So they are basically tanking losing something like 13 out of their last 15.

The Warriors played without starters David Lee (strained groin) and Andris Biedrins (mild concussion) and backup point guard Nate Robinson (right hamstring). Andrew Bogut (fractured left ankle) and Stephen Curry (sprained right ankle) have long been out for the season.
That forced Jackson - who started all three of the team's draft picks this season along with reserve center Mickell Gladness, who was originally signed to a 10-day contract in late March - to refute questions again about the franchise intentionally losing to protect its first-round draft pick.
Utah holds the pick this year as part of a previous trade, and the only way the Warriors keep it is if they finish in the bottom seven of the league after the draft lottery. Golden State entered the night in eighth.

They're definitely tanking

What's going on with these teams is criminal. They are not even trying to win. Mark Jackson should be banned from the league for such a poor job coaching the Warriors last night.

Houston had a one point lead and got an offensive rebound with 23 seconds to go. Basically Houston could have run the clock out since Mark Jackson decided not to have his guys foul. Instead they shot the ball with 7 seconds left and missed but got an offensive rebound and put it in.

Houston is now up three with seven to go. They foul GS (which is the move I like since they could only score two but I know not everyone fouls in that situation). GS makes two free throws with four seconds to go and they are down one.

What happens in those four seconds. Nothing. Three things could have happened and none of it did.

1) One they could have deliberately miss the last FT which as we know in Cuse history that isn't always possible.
2) They could have called time out to figure out what they were going to do. They used five so I believe they had one left.
3) They could have fouled Houston and made them make two free throws and then use their last timeout and get the ball at half court.

I would have tried one or three but Jackson did none of the above.

Hopefully the commissioner is looking closely at this and other examples.

1:07 96-97 HOU Chase Budinger made 2nd of 2 Free Throws
54.0 GS Lost ball turnover on Richard Jefferson, Stolen by Luis Scola
35.0 HOU Full Timeout
30.0 96-97 HOU Courtney Lee missed 3-pt. Jump Shot
23.0 HOU Offensive Rebound by Patrick 23.0
7.0 96-97 HOU Goran Dragic missed Layup
7.0 HOU Offensive Rebound by Patrick 7.0
7.0 96-99 HOU Patrick Patterson made Tip-in
7.0 GS Full Timeout
4.0 HOU Personal foul on Goran Dragic
4.0 97-99 GS Charles Jenkins made 1st of 2 Free Throws
4.0 98-99 GS Charles Jenkins made 2nd of 2 Free Throws
0.0 End of period.

I hope GS finishes with the 8th worst record.. would serve them right...oh, and...Golden State will always suck.. doesn't matter what they do. Even when they had Run TMC they never made much post season noise.

0.0 End of period.

He's busying figuring out how to fix the 2012 lottery so Brooklyn gets the 1st pick.
