IMHO...I'd love to see updated versions of these movies

Officer and a Gentlemen

Body Heat

Ferris Bueller's Day Off

The Dirty Dozen

Thoughts?

Surprised to see that list. Ferris Bueller's Day Off and O&G? How do you envision those being improved upon?

They were made 30-35 years ago...new actors, slightly different scripts, make them relevant today. I agree they could be easily botched.

I think Body Heat would be pretty easy to do...probably the safest one to do.

Dirty Dozen would be pretty easy to do today too.

the remade Magnificent Seven was terrible; I'd expect the same for Dirty Dozen

might be fun to remake Ferris Bueller with Matthew Broderick playing Ed Rooney this time

I see they are about to remake A Star is Born for the umpteenth time, starring Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper

You know what would happen though. Bueller, I think they would just destroy it. O&G they would either make the Mayo character gay or a woman officer candidate.

ferris should just be a sequel he takes a day off from work. now

Body Heat

Kathleen Turner--->Scarlet Johannson or Elizabeth Hurley
William Hurt---> Tim Robbins (I'll volunteer to be stand in)
Richard Crenna--->William Hurt or Nick Nolte
Mickey Rourke---> Mickey Rourke

I wish someone could replicate the genius of Monty Python's Holy Grail, but it cannot be done.

Body Heat? Oh good god Mark...may god have mercy on your soul.

I'm not a movie buff but I think movies are like songs, 999 times out of a 1000 the original is better than or at least as good as the remake/cover.

I'd prefer all these re-dos get the boot and people have some imagination and come up with new movie ideas.

A grittier West Side Story.
More violence or more dancing? Who would play Natalie Wood? Would you make her grittier? Please say no.

this is just Mark's way of saying that hes rewound the vcr tape on the Kathleen Turner nude scenes 1 too many times and he needs somebody else in that role to get him through next winter.

of all the movies he mentioned, the only one which makes sense is the Dirty Dozen.

war movies now develop characters better, the special effects are better and they are certainly closer to the truth or set in a better make believe reality.

like Saving Private Ryan or Band of Brothers.
