My students are shocked to find I really liked Prince Bride, and I like Snow White and the Horseman.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians was also a fun movie to watch.

I'm not embarrassed to say I like The Princess Bride. I am kinda embarrassed to say I love Independence Day.

The Princess Bride rocks. No need to be embarrassed.

Mine is probably Judge Dredd with Stallone. So bad yet I watch it everytime its on.

Yeah, The Princess Bride might be Goldman's best. That's saying something.

I like a lot of crappy movies. I'm not embarrassed. It is part of who I am. I'll need to revisit this later.

No one should ever be embarrassed for liking The Princess Bride. Dread Pirate Roberts rules!

My contributions:

Fly Away Home: Jeff Daniels, Dana Delaney and a young Anna Paquin in her first major role. Saw it before I had kids and then got it on DVD when they were little. Based on a true story.

Waterworld: yes, that much maligned flick that went horribly over budget and tanked at the box office, almost killing Kevin Costner's career. I always liked the premise of the movie, I thought the gilled Mariner character was cool, not to mention his awesome tri-maran. Plus there is always Jeanne Tripplehorn and Dennis Hopper. Yes Costner killed what could have been, at the very least, a cult classic. They could have done so much more. Still, if you see the potential that's there, it's OK.

Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer. The Silver Surfer is bitchin. Enough said.

The Punisher: The one with Tom Jane. Many diehard comic geeks didn't like it, but since I'm not a comic geek, I liked it. It was fun to see him torment John Travolta.

Okay, I'm going to go ahead and completely embarrass myself, but my wife had me watch the movie 17 Again with her (the body switch movie with Zac Efron), and I hate to admit it, but I kind of enjoyed it. It helps that it's about basketball and at the beginning of the movie he's being recruited by Syracuse, but really it's mainly enjoyable because Tom Lennon is in it, and Tom Lennon can do no wrong.

Ok now that we are all completely enbarrassing ourselves here is a movie that I actually bawled my eyes out watching.

My life with Michael Keaton and Nicole Kidman. Very depressing. I was home one day during the week back in the mid 90's and caught it on HBO. Literally was bawling. My wife came hone and asked me why I was crying. I had no answers.

Michael Keaton is an all time underrated actor IMO.

Agreed. And did you know his actual name is Michael Douglas, and despite changing it when breaking into Hollywood (for obvious reasons), he still has Douglas on his passport and driver's license and does not answer to Michael Keaton in the real world?

Yes knew his name was Douglas. Good actor and I wish he would make a reappearance on the big screen in a lead role soon.

I'll default to chick flicks because I'm not really embarrassed about any b rate movies I enjoy and go with:

"PS I Love You" - Was a pretty good movie that I watched with my wife (while she was pregnant) and she will not watch again because it was "so sad". The brave King Leonidas apperently has a softer side.

"Defenitely, Maybe" and "The Proposal" are 2 other movies in this genre that I found enjoyable.

I loved The Proposal! Ryan Reynolds is freakin hilarious, even when he was trying to be serious in Green Lantern.

I liked Notting Hill (Hugh Grant, Julia Roberts) mostly because of his disgustingly man cave-ish flat mate. He was that guy that all fraternities had but tried to keep hidden at parties.

I'll add The Proposal, but it's mainly because I love Craig T. Nelson and I'm not ashamed to admit I've had a man crush on Ryan Reynolds since Van Wilder, and then after seeing his Walken impression it just solidified it.

We actually own that movie. My wife has asked me to watch it at least 100 times.. Always said no. Maybe I'll give it a shot

Since Van Wilder and Waiting I'll watch most any Ryan Reynolds movie. He does make a e superhero though since you can't really take him seriously.

It's certainly not great but there are enough secondary characters played by good comedic actors and, god help me, I actually found Efron reasonably charming and funny in the lead role.

But mainly see it for Tom Lennon because Lt. Dangle is the best.

Van Wilder is on Comedy Central now, FYI

Before my son I could watch that movie...now, I don't dare to watch that movie now...Don't want awesomness leaking out my eyes!

I have the DVD somewhere in the pile of movies my 11 year old son isn't allowed to watch, probably right in between Eurotrip and Old School.

And next to American Pie?

Not sure I ever owned that one. I can tell you that Scarface, Casino, Goodfellas, and some other good ones are back there as well though.

Jekelish is right. It's a lot better than it has any reason to be.

I'll echo Van Wilder. Also American President with Michael Douglas and Annette Benning. I'm so ashamed.
