Ran into a number of board luminaries today, including OrangeOnions, Orangeyes, OrangeXtreme, VaOrange, Bees, and the birthday girl cto. Think I even saw Marsh and a little Marsh run by me in the mad post game dash to ours to avoid the dreaded Standart traffic jam.

Small crowd, not much life in the Dome today. Not even an interesting cover of the NA by Hanson drew much of a buzz.

SU started out fast, took control of the game and established dominance almost immediately. The run was fueled by some dazzling passing, mostly by Tyler Ennis. Totally out of character for him; he usually makes more straightforward passes.

The team pased the ball inside the paint much more than normal. CJ and JG in particular often gave up good looks to get someone an even better look. It worked great for a while but eventually became over passing and led to some bad TOs. This is unusual; both of these guys has some black hole tendencies though CJ as of late is clearly looking to pass when he gets double teamed.

No DC2 led to a start for JG,and he came out ready to play. Scored 9 points before people had the wrappers off their Dome Dogs.

At some point, SU appeared to lose interest and EMU got back into the game. Props to them for playing hard all game long, shooting well from the outside and hustling a lot. They did a good job against the SU press and might have completed more alley oop dunks against our 2-3 than any team in the last decade or so (BMK was chewed out big-time by JB because of this). Murphy is doing a good job with them.

Thought they did a decent job on TC and CJ but both had their share of open looks from the perimeter and didn't take advantage. RC was the beneficiary of many of the good interior passes and I believe tied his all-time scoring record with 15.

JB continues to give Roberson some quality minutes. Today, he took advantage of them and played well. Think he had 6 points, got some rebounds, played passable defense and also had some good passes.

I hope that JB continues to throw Roberson some minutes. I have a feeling we are going to need him in league play. The kid is skilled, just needs some experience and, maybe more importantly, confidence.

EMU is actually one of the bigger teams we are going to be facing all year. their length down low caused us some trouble.

That was an epic JB freakout. Walked out to halfcourt to chew out BMK and the huddle featured a clipboard spike.

And there were people that thought JB might be losing his enthusiasm for the game.

I commend him. As I have gotten older, my ability to do a full-fledged meltdown has greatly diminished. JB it seems it has increased exponentially.
I never remember this in the 70's, 80's or 90's. Only after the the Michael Graham BET.

I don't think I've ever seen JB so angry. Throwing the clipboard was classic. I felt bad for Baye - when the TO and screaming were over he jumped up and immediately pushed through everyone to get out of the huddle ASAP, with none of his usual hand-slapping, hugging, etc. But by the next TO he seemed back to his usual happy-go-lucky self.

If DCII's injury is of the nagging its going to impact him all year long I think that Roberson will necessarily become a part of the rotation. I don't want to go into the meat of the season with MGB and Baye being the only subs we are willing to use.

Yep that was me. We were running because it felt like -25 out as the wind was whipping right through us. Plus i dont own a winter coat so that didnt help the cause
