toward the end of the game was the most egregious flagrant foul I have ever seen. In front of the Zebra no less who was a foot away. I mean the dude doesn't even attempt to go for the ball and just shoves CJ. I swear I almost lost my shiznit. :bang: How do they continually let these goons play this way? I hope Dixon and crew lose every game from here on out. Plus that timeout with 8 secs to go. Real classy Jaime. You could tell JB was giving him the stare down like you POS.

That was the exact play that elicited my "I hope they get aids" text.

Robinson should have been sent off.. add that either he or Taylor shoved Fab earlier as well. Just no place for that crap. I wish that stuff could be reviewable by the BE. Robinson deserves a 1 game suspension for that. I guess in a game with the two BE defects it doesn't matter? :bang:

I disagree, I don't even think it should've been called a foul. It's not different than what he (or Zanna or Taylor) did to Fab all game long, and none of those were fouls. So why should that be?

I enjoyed the one Scoop to Fab oop they replayed about 4 times in a row. As Fab was jumping to catch the pass, you could see the defender at his right hit him low and knock him away from the basket. Once he reached the pinnacle of his jump, a defender from the other side hit him high, and knocked him back toward the basket. Apparently since the opposing forces left him in the same place as if he was untouched, its not worth calling a foul.

Sam you must be thinking of a different play.

They had replays of PU players pushing Melo in the back, pulling his shirt, slapping his arms, stepping on him and I love Bilas's "if he fell down it would have been a charge." Is it me or are missed calls against Melo the norm now?

Yeah that play was quite comical. Melo standing with his arms straight up, feet planted, and the Pitt players runs into him, and Melo stumbles backwards, but since he did not fall to the ground, it's a block. Bilas was all over the missed calls last night, and they pretty much all sided on Syracuse receiving the short end of the stick. What does that tell ya?

I couldn't believe he didn't call that a flagrant foul. Ref was standing right there. Even if he wasn't standing right there, he should've called it. Wasn't that hard to tell.

Pitt.

I think the only call that went our way was the Kris Jo Jumper (and 1). That call was def bad in our favor.. so a whopping 1 points we got in benefits.. vs 15 plus for pitt. Personally I think some of the official review stuff is making the refs a bit lazy. If they are going to approach the game so casually maybe its time we let the coaches have 2 or 3 video review requests for fouls committed. It would ugly up and extend the game but maybe clean it up some too? Who knows..

Robinson is a thug with marginal talent as a basketball player--attributes shared by many a Pitt player over the years.

You must not have been around in the day. During the John Thompson era, if one of his Georgetown players did that, he would have called it a "hand check."

LOL, or he would have called it a congratulatory pat on the back.

It was pretty flagrant. Not enough to get sent off, but enough to have warranted an easy foul call. Not sure what the ref was thinking. I was yelling pretty loudly about it. Total thug move.

Surprised that no one here has mentioned the submarine move that sent Dion flying underneath the basket while exposed during a jump. That seemed much more egregious and infuriating to me. Yes, it got called, unlike a lot of the other muggings that took place last night, but it struck me as more dangerous than anything else described in this thread.

Screw those guys. I will always despise the Hoyas more because of JT II and the earliest days in the league, and I'll always savor wins over UConn more, but the very thought of Pitt leaves me seething. What a gratifying win--I just wish it could have been by 40.

GO ORANGE

Hell, Robinson's shove was a picnic compared to the old Georgetown teams -- how 'bout when Ewing swung on Pearl? Or Horace Broadnax kneed Andre Hawkins in the groin?

But I agree, Robinson is on the court mostly for physical abuse.

I thought that Robinson was on the court for his clutch free throws.

It seemed to me like Pitt was literally trying to start a fight in the last couple of minutes.

Robinson is the clown whose foul cost Pitt their 2nd round game vs. Butler in last year's tourney, right?

Yes.

Seriously? Robinson pushed him away like a ball handler pushes a defender off of him going to the basket. Yes it was a foul but that's it. The game is already ruined by too many offensive foul flops and silly rules. There has been many situations where Syracuse players do the same thing.

Check the tape for the middle of the second half. There is a scrum at the Pitt foul line, in front of their bench. We came up with the ball, and play continued. Then they call the "T" on the Pitt bench. The camera zooms in on said bench and shows Knight, one of their coaches, giving instructions to one of the players on the court, most likely advising how to win the next scrum. And the instruction was "swing your elbow".

Saying Syracuse players do the same thing as Pitt players on defense is like saying the U.S. and North Korea share the same political views.

Apparently, you didn't see the eastern euro guy on Oklahoma's team cross body block Carmelo from behind in the elite eight game in 2003.
