Watching the first game, Atlanta vs Memphis. So far Jaren Jackson Jr is playing much better than Trae Young. Young can't hit the broad side of the barn while Jackson nailed a half court shot at the halftime buzzer. Someone posted that they felt that Jackson would be perfect for the NBA. So far he has done nothing to prove otherwise. Pretty versatile for a big man.

Jackson with 26 points on 7 threes with 5:47 left in the game. He is in the zone from deep.

Jackson finishes with 29 points on 8 for 13 shooting from downtown. Nice debut. Trae Young was 1-11 from deep.

Just saw a highlight reel with CJ posterizing a dude. Love that lefty jam!

Grayson Allen had a decent debut for the Jazz. 17 minutes 11 points 8 rebounds 6 assists. Only shot 4 for 16 though but didn't force it either.

Summer league is fun, but I feel like it started really early this year.

I will get flamed but Allen has a chance to make a career. He landed in a perfect spot for his mental state. Take off the Duke jersey and the whining face - the kid has some skills distributing and scoring especially as a 3d or 4th option.

I know some people in the Jazz organization a little bit. They're aware it's not a flashy free agent destination, so they're very focused on player development. The organization is very upfront communicating with players that they respect them as professional athletes and will provide them with every resource they could need to improve in that capacity. They have people that will help make every single other aspect of their life easier so they can focus on basketball as much as they want.

If players don't succeed there, it's not for a lack of organizational support.

Trey Young might be really bad
He's having another really poor shooting night tonight and got into a double technical situation with Grayson Allen who was guarding him very closely which Trae didn't appreciate.

Well, he's white, so... all he can do is shoot.

Not where I was going with that. Never saw him do anything remotely close to those dunks in games.. or even highlight clips. Not that I was looking for them or anything...

Anybody watch Lydon last night? He seems a lot more like a pro now. His body, even facial hair lol. He seems more agile. Did a lot of things right. Some really good passes. Although he didn't shoot much, it seemed more like not forcing things, instead of being passive like before. Good D too.

It used to be that if you didn’t make an impact in your first year or two and spent most of your time in the D-League, it was curtains or collect an overseas paycheck but, to the NBA’s credit, they have done a phenomenal job transforming the G-League into a platform where players are coming up after a few years and being legit NBA players going on to collect 2nd/3rd contracts as contributors on their team.

Thought he played very well. Very confident looking and played within himself. He’s on again tonight vs Boston at 11pm.

Does Lydon start?

Cancar, this late second round Euro who is now 21, is another 6-9 player looking good on Denver from the few minutes I have seen,.

He did last night. Several players didn't play at all last night and a few of those are now playing tonight. Don't know how they do summer league rotations but with so many players maybe they rotate some of the players by game? Or at least who gets minutes. Also just noticed that all 3 bigs that started last night didn't start tonight.

Perhaps with his recovery from the injury, they don't want to play him back to back either.

that could be too.

hard to tell but it looks like Tyler is in street clothes. wish the camera would focus on their bench for 5 secs.

just had the camera on him. sitting near the coaches with a nugget warm up on and khaki shorts. maybe a bit sore or just a precaution against playing 2 nights in a row.

That and there's like 20 guys on the bench. At least he didn't dress for a game he wasn't going to play in.

edit; just saw the article in another thread, they chose to rest Lydon on purpose for his rehab
