Is accelerating. And it’s not great for Syracuse.

We either need to overpay (No) our outinnovate a la the early P era.

We are going to need a combo of Boeheims and Sean Lewis’ to compete in major sports, IMO.

I'm still hopeful on hoops, although it's waning.

Football, short of being the first to have players levitate, I'm not sure how much innovation is left. Too much information is easily obtained in today's world and our competitors have a staff that resembles a small army, charged with the effort of being one step ahead of us.

I didn't read anything in what he said as an "uh oh, SU is screwed" statement. It was more or less what most folks have been saying - NCAA needs to be replaced with something that serves the needs of the FBS, instead of trying to serve all schools, across all divisions. SU is not going to stop offering 85 scholarships. SU just invested $150M in the Dome, got a new sponsor and is moving forward in the NIL space. Of course, we will never be SEC-like in terms of spend, but SU certainly isn't positioning itself to go to FCS or something less than FBS.

BBall is all about the coach. If the HC is happy he will stay even if he got offered more money. How often do you see good HCs leave?

FB will be no different than it is currently. Nationally we won't have a chance but within the ACC there is always a shot. Since we joined the ACC we have seen in the ACC CG Pitt 2x, Wake, UNC, UVA, GA Tech, and Duke. None of those are football schools. Our ceiling is making the ACC Championship game. That doesn't change because the SEC and B1G are on a different level financially.

Other than Wake, what do you notice about those other teams?
They are all in the other division. There isn't a lot of parity on our side of the ACC.

As for hoops, good coaches leave their programs every year for what they see is a better program and bigger paycheck. We can debate whether or not they are "good" coaches or just caught lightning in a bottle and seized their opportunity.

Divisions will go away which will open the CG to us as a possibility.

You can win at Championship anywhere in BBall. There is no need for a HC to leave. Why didn't Jay Wright, Tony Bennett, Mark Few, Scott Drew, Ed Cooley, Leonard Hamilton jump ship? Smaller programs will lose guys but SU is not a small program. If we have a good HC with a lot of success, they aren't likely to leave over a $1M.
