From a January 2016 event:

3d Blue Chip: West Regional Camp Standouts | 3d Rising

Marquez White, Midfield, Twin Peaks (Calif.)/3d San Diego, 2020

White is a hard dodging, athletic young midfielder who shined at the 3d Blue Chip West Regional Camp. He’s smooth initiating atop the box and can feed while moving his feed and can make it look pretty casual. He has endurance and can cover ground. He showed he could pull off dodges to use up a lot of space and utilize his speed, but he also made some good moves in more compact space. He was working with other midfielders on slips and showed good eyes when looking for his teammates. We saw him hammer an outside shot. Then we saw him invert, get topside and thread a shot top right on the run. He was arguably one of the most impressive midfielders in the 2020 group.

From a June 2016 event:

Maverik Showtime 2020: Standouts, Photos, More | 3d Rising

Marquez White, Midfield, Poway (Calif.)/3d San Diego

White is an athletic midfielder who uses that and his increasing skill to make plays. He showed great agility and coordination to take a feed, make a move, bump into a defender, shift himself by him to get to the center of the field and whip the ball past the goalie. He later scored in transition and later canned a hard outside high-to-high shot. The righty’s got high potential given his athleticism and ability to accelerate and glide as a dodger. White’s speed obviously makes him useful in other ways too, coming off the wing or showing nonchalant lateral speed playing short-stick defense.

1:28 mark, White scores a nice goal. For a freshman he looks to have a pretty hard, accurate shot if he has time and room.

Standouts From Legends Lacrosse’s Inaugural New Jersey Freak Show

Marquez White ’20, M, Poway (Calif.) / 3d San Diego
It doesn’t ever take long for White to stand out. Some kids are just on another level athletically, and White fits the bill. He moves around effortlessly, almost gliding past defenders. He drew early slide calls, but it didn’t seem to matter. When he wasn’t finding open teammates, the Syracuse verbal flashed a great in-tight handle.

Breaking Down The Legends Committed Experience

Marquez White ’20, M, Poway (Calif.) – Syracuse
It’s easy to see what Syracuse took White early, loving his game at the Adrenaline ACC Prospect Games and securing his commitment in late February. He’s on a different level athletically and has an awfully impressive IQ to boot. There’s a lot of shake in his dodging reportoire and he often rolled back to his strong hand before burying shots. His understanding of the game was advanced enough that he could also produce offense off of the re-dodge, and he simply made play after play during the event.

Kid is slippery and fast as hell. He will be a contributor at some point. Left handed shot doesnt look comfortable yet

Good read on Marquez:

Poway lacrosse star leaves it all on the wall

“I’m excited to go to college,’’ White said. “I wanted to go to a new place, not just another place where the weather is so great all the time.’’

“Syracuse is such an historic program,’’ White said. “They’ve won 11 national titles, are always in the top 10 in lacrosse and NFL Hall of Fame running back Jim Brown played there.’’

impressed with both left and right dodges, left and right hands. Quick acceleration out of both dodges. Changes hands in traffic very quickly and likes to hit. Look forward to this kid.

Arline, Bauer, Laliberte Among Standouts at NLF Club National Championships

Marquez White '20, M, Poway (Calif.) / Legends West — Syracuse | 84
He comes across as thin and light, but then makes the first move and you realize his jerky-quick suddenness is going to be a problem for opposing defenses. He has an all-around game; a central component to Legends West's offense, but not necessarily the straw that stirs the drink. Impressed by his ability to stick his nose into contested groundballs. Interesting to consider his impact at the next level, especially as he adds more weight. It's hard to find a comparison among Syracuse's recent midfielders, but he should be able to find a role.
