New Nike Jerseys $120!

My wife asked me how Nike planned on making money off these new Uni's. I told her to wait and see what they charged and how many people would purchase them.

Ugh. I may have to buy one. Wonder if they'll make any numbers aside from Scoop? For $120 it'd be nice to have at least 2 years of a current player to support with it. Be nice to have a #25 Rak jersey and beat the rush to the bandwagon next year.

No offense, but I find this post funny (was it intended to be?). It's only intended to be worn by the team once, looks nothing like our normal unis and doesn't even appear to feature the right color orange, it wouldn't be my choice of the available options to show my support for the team - - certainly not beyond this season.

None taken, but no it wasn't. Since it's only going to worn once it would nice IMO to have a players number that would still be valid even after the jerseys are history. Would be nice to have a different color jersey to go with my 2 orange ones and stack of orange T-shirts. The 03 championship star and embossed S on the back sold me on wanting one.

That picture looks even uglier than the others we saw.

These things get worse everytime I see them. I can't believe this us the best that Nike could do. I have, for the most part, liked the other elite stuff they have done for both basketball and football. Not these.

I agree, the first time I saw them I thought they looked cool from the pic on suathletics.com, since then they look like they've been sitting out in the sun for 5 years.

I actually really like them...but ive never really worn a hoops jersey in my life...so I wouldnt buy one anyway

Nike successfully gambled (as they do with all of Oregon's uniforms) that something with no aesthetic appeal will be embraced by a significant number of people who defend it for being "different," and criticized by a number of people who don't like it.

In this case, the ensuing back-and-forth has invited pseudo-news organizations such as the Sub Standard to give the uniform "news" coverage, which is essentially free advertising for something that isn't news at all.

Quite the scheme.

Your first sentence is quite misguided but the second is right on point. While you and many others may think that it has 'no aesthetic appeal' I assure you that's not what Nike thinks...which is what you're insinuating.
