I have no idea what the restaurant closure situation is there, but this place Brennan's is wonderful. It's gourmet Southern/Creole cuisine. We went the day before the LSU game in 2017. They invented the dessert Bananas Foster and make it tableside for you.

Frenchman Street is the place to be for great live music. Had a great time there when we went down for the LSU game. Not sure what it looks like now in the time of COVID.
