Notre Dame QB Tyler Buchner likely out for season

And Buchner was the underachieving 1st Stringer. Might be a tough inaugural season for young Mr. Freeman. Although with hare trigger firings these days, the dissatisfied ND fan base might have his head before we play them in late Oct.

wow. What a development. I saw the hit he landed on that shoulder super awkwardly. He was grimacing heavily when he got up. Sucks for the kid.

We recruited Pyne out of HS from Connecticut.
I know he was a 4 star and played at New Canaan...but I always thought he was overhyped because of his dad (board member at IMG, former COO of Nascar, etc.). There's a reason he was quickly recruited over.

I never love a 5'11 (if he's lucky) QB.

Talking to a buddy of mine who is an ND fan before the Marshall game and he didn't like the starter, he wanted the backup. I don't follow ND at all so I am not sure if this is a thing or not, but will be interesting to see how the backup does.

Yeah Pyne is the better player.

The ND fans were on Buchner.

Wanted Pyne until Pyne came in. There's short, and there's short.

Now, they're 'pyne-ing' for next year--with nary a QB in their vaunted (and soon to be poached) 2023 Class of commits.

Never want to see a student athlete get hurt. But I’d be less than honest if I said I wasn’t thinking about how this increases our chances when they come to the Dome.

They're going to get taken to the woodshed that day.

Id recruit him just for Dads money and contacts alone

"Drew Pyne"

Sounds destined to be a backup QB

"Why isn't he playing?"

"Oh, he Drew Pyne"
Yup, a bad sports name… kind of like “Win” Lyle going for a tie in a Sugar Bowl!

I actually wanted to play against this kid. Don’t think he is any good. Feel for him for the injury but this D woulda ate him up

Please let Pyne have a crappy first outing against Cal and go to 0-3.
