Since when has Syracuse traffic gotten so bad???

I was surprised to see so many vacant seats after the 15 minute point in the second half. I know it is something of a tradition to leave football games sometime in the third quarter if we are losing but I don't remember this phenomenon during basketball season. Then again, I live south of Albany and usually see Orange games on television. Is leaving the game early "to beat the traffic" now de rigour at hoops games also?

Nah, this has been happening for at least fifteen years.

If anything, the crowd stuck around longer than usual today. It was an unusually quiet bunch, but not a terrible showing.

15 years? Well, that makes sense then. Traffic jams were awful back in the 90s.

Seriously, it has been many more than 15 years since I lived up there and was a season ticket holder. I don't remember people leaving games early back then. Even in November. Is there that much more to do in Syracuse these days?

Are you being serious or facetious? There is no traffic in Syracuse.

Trust me, it's been going on since the 70's at Manley. A friend of mine from the Zoo would go up to people and personally ask them why they were leaving the game early.

We should definitely get a group of students to do this- Otto's Army needs to make this happen.
