Hunt does look good right now.

One thing to keep in mind just to temper things a little, though, is that this is the 2nd or 3rd string defense at this point.

It was against a prevent and second stringers but the effort was great.

Not taking any abilities into the equation at all. The biggest difference between the two is that Hunt looks in command and in control of the offense, he looks like he actually knows what he is doing in getting the offense lined up. It's a complete difference. Allen looks confused and out of it.

Hunt looks great...

Idc if it's not the 1st string defense. All still 1st tier big 10 athletes.

Agreed. He's playing against guys who will never see the field against good teams, but he still looked fantastic running the ball. His throws weren't that great, but he's got some moves in the open field.

I just like that he didn't look confused. Great athleticism.

He had a couple nice throws, particularly a slant that had some zip. I just liked the tempo and his apparent command of the offense.

Pat's Fitzgerald spits upon us.

Terrible offense...how many times was Jerome in the game? Should have established him in the first quarter. The offense did not start to move until he got the ball...then we completely abandon him as the primary ball carrier.

No idea what these coaches are thinking. We want so much to be explosive that we abandon what our offense is good at.

Run the ball for Pete's sake then run play action.

Important stat:

Jerome Smith had 10 carries.

10 carries for our 1000 yard rusher.

(According to the current ESPN box score, which seems to be a little wonky...but 10 carries seems about right. Why should we give the ball to our workhorse running back?)

Same thing happened last year. We did nothing until we committed to run the ball. As soon as we stuck with it our offense was spectacular.

Gonna be long season if we don't get our heads out of our a$$es.

Wow

a team, develops a special attitude when its a great running team -takes guys who love to get down and dirty- enjoy giving pain

Tough start to the Shafer era. Hope the staff can get things straightened over the next three weeks.

Great to see Hunt get some playing time with everything he has been through in his life. He actually looked like he had a better grasp of the offense in terms of getting the plays off in our alleged up tempo offense.

See you in the Dome next week!!!
