I wish we hadn't gone conservative and stopped bring pressure on their (apparent) winning drive (until they were in the red zone).

Saw a person on the purdue forum calling for the walk on QB to be benched and try one of the hyped QBs. Talk about delusional. AOC is a really good QB and they still want the back up.

Ha, that’s nuts. He made one horrible mistake that cost them the game.

But with average QB play - they would’ve struggled to score much at all. They couldn’t run on us. Their QB carried them and put the ball on the money all night. Even when we had pretty good coverage, he often made perfect throws for completions anyway.

O’Connell and Jones were great. I thought the OC did a great job of calling plays. TBH, I thought Purdue outplayed us in most facets of the game.

We left some points on the board and our QB looked pedestrian at best.

If Linton’s hand is six inches further back, we win the game by 10. Just a brutal penalty that we’d be bitching about if we lost.

In the end, we had more points.

On to Virginia.

To your last part, our CBs rarely got their hands on his passes, he rarely put the ball in dangerous spots that could have been picked (minus Calebs sort of fluky INT), rarely had deflections or tips from the Dline or LBs

Agree on O’Connell and Jones.

Both teams dodged bullets, left points on the field (missed FG’s), rang up too many penalties etc. We definitely had more closer turnover calls but Deuce realistically could have picked 2 balls as well. It was sloppy on both sides but all that matters is the scoreboard.

The ironic thing is they completely outplayed us the first 3 quarters and were losing 10-9 heading into the 4th. Lord knows we’ve been there with games like this. It was our turn to win one.

Agreed. Check the first ten pages of todays game thread. And the first sniff of blood in the water of every top QB in our programs history. Next man up is always pie in the sky.
