Class of 2021 OG TJ Ferguson (GA) TRANSFERRING TO SYRACUSE (4/30/25)

A critical need here. You don't let this guy leave campus with out him committed. Must have addition to a currently questionable oline.
Makes me wonder if part of the discussion with Angeli included a topic on the oline and still building.

I think we're just trying to turn over a lot of the Dino OL guys because they weren't good enough.

I don't think Angeli has anything to do with it.

He made 7 starts for FSU in 2024 and started the last 3 games of the season and did VERY poorly per PFF. But it sounds like he was dealing with multiple injuries last year. Apparently he also had some injuries during camp this season. So it seems any value in bringing him in would be dependent on if he can get healthy.

Hopefully they'll work him out to see if he's healthy. His visit is Sunday to Tuesday - certainly enough time for an eval (and plenty of schmoozing).

You don't think QBs visiting schools don't talk about status of offense and status of player groups? Maybe you are right but I am guessing Angeli knows that our starting center and prospective starter left and had questions on where that group is. Would be kinda crazy if he didn't.

12 of 16 currently on the roster last two cycles

I'm sure they do. And Collins probably had similar questions.

With or without Angeli, adding to the OL room was a priority this spring. It is now priority #1.

Agree 100%. Having a quality OL not only will give the QB better protection / more time to throw, but it can also mask a lot of sins.

We benefitted from having quality depth last year. Right now, we are down to 8 guys with some level of experience. Adequate if nobody gets hurt to field a minimum rotation, but we'd be in trouble quick if a player or two gets dinged up [which seems to happen every year].

So adding a couple of guys -- and not just warm body guys, but prospects who can come in and challenge for a starting role -- is imperative.

We add another OT and another interior linemen [at minimum], then I'm a lot more comfortable. And let the chips fall where they may in terms of who wins the PT.

Right and agree, was just saying I would think a portal QB coming in would be probably be pretty focused on what is happening there. He played behind a ND oline and knows, with the coaches it's a pretty important group.
