Someone will say CC doesn’t have 3x3 experience. You mean like the trash they just put out there?

It's not simply selecting players to a team.
The selection committee is limited in who they can select. For the Olympic 4-person team (3x3 rank)

  • 2 players ranked within the top 10 of their country
  • 2 players ranked within the top 50 of their country, or have the minimum number of ranking points

Cierra Burdick
Burdick has been a member of the USA Basketball family since 2009, with extensive 3x3 and 5-on-5 experience. Career highlights include winning 3x3 gold medals at the 2023 Pan American Games, 2023 FIBA 3x3 World Cup and 2014 FIBA 3x3 World Cup. She has represented USA on the FIBA 3x3 Women’s Series since 2021.

Dearica Hamby
Hamby has previous USA Basketball 5-on-5 and 3x3 experience. Most recently, she made her FIBA 3x3 Women’s Series debut at the Springfield Stop as a member of team Springfield. Hamby was named to team Springfield at the conclusion of the 2024 USA 3x3 Women’s National Team training camp, which preceded the Springfield Stop. In 2023, Hamby was a member of the gold medal winning USA squad that stood atop the podium at the FIBA 3x3 AmeriCup. Additionally, she was recognized as the tournament MVP.

Rhyne Howard
The 2022 WNBA Rookie of the Year won a silver medal at 2019 USA Basketball 3X Nationals as a member of Drive. She also helped USA to a second place finish at the 2024 FIBA 3x3 Women’s Series Springfield Stop. In 5-on-5, she’s won gold at the 2021 FIBA Women’s AmeriCup, 2019 FIBA U19 Women’s World Cup and 2018 FIBA U18 Women’s Americas Championship and participated in multiple 5-on-5 Senior National Team minicamps and tournaments.

Hailey Van Lith
Van Lith owns five USA Basketball gold medals in 3x3 and 5-on-5. She was a member of the quartet who won gold at the 2023 FIBA 3x3 Women’s World Cup. Also last year, she competed at the FIBA 3x3 Women’s Series stops in Montreal and Quebec and won the 3x3 U23 Nations League Americas conference. Van Lith’s other gold medals while representing USA Basketball include the 2021 FIBA U19 Women’s World Cup, 2019 FIBA 3x3 U18 World Cup, 2018 Youth Olympic Games 3x3 and 2018 FIBA U17 Women’s World Cup.

and that 3x3 thing is a different brand of ball. rough. no breaks, running clock on possessions.

It's a fast pace game, so endurance, speed play a big part besides shooting 3s. Feel like Slim would be a good fit but don't think she ever played.

Lost again. Please don’t repeat the press release about the roster makeup. LOL.
They can’t make shots. U know who can ?
