Orange Women's Basketball May Host 2016 NCAA Tournament Games

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The Syracuse University women's basketball team is in pursuit of hosting the first and second rounds of the 2016 NCAA Tournament. If the Orange earn a top-four seed in the field (one of the top-16 seeds in the tournament), they will get to stay home to play in the NCAA Tournament in the Carrier Dome for the first time in school history. The 2016 NCAA Tournament selection show is Monday, March 14 at 7 p.m. (ESPN). The dates for the first and second round are March 18 & 20 or March 19 & 21.

All 2015-16 Orange women's season ticket holders will have the first opportunity to purchase seats, which the NCAA sells in a reserved seating format, on Monday, March 14 at 8 p.m. The next opportunity to purchase tickets will go to all current Syracuse University athletics donors, 2015-16 season ticket holders for men's basketball, football and men's lacrosse, and those who purchased women's basketball group tickets in 2015-16. That group will have access to purchase tickets at 10 p.m. on Monday, March 14. Individuals in these groups will receive an email from the Carrier Dome Box Office with details to purchase tickets through a MyCuse account.

Tickets go on sale to the general public at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 15.

All session tickets (three games) are $30 for adults and $15 for youth, college students with ID, and senior citizens. Single session prices for round 1 (two games) are $20 for adults, $10 for youth, college students with ID, and senior citizens, and group tickets (20 or more) are $10 for adults and $8 for youth. Single session prices for round 2 (one game) are $15 for adults, $10 for youth, college students with ID, and senior citizens, and group tickets (20 or more) are $10 for adults and $8 for youth.

The 14th-ranked Orange enter the 2016 NCAA Tournament after advancing to the ACC Championship game this past weekend. Syracuse, playing for a conference championship for the first time since 1988, lost to No. 2 Notre Dame, 68-57, in the title game.

Orange head coach Quentin Hillsman has taken the Orange program to unprecedented heights in his 10 years at the helm. Syracuse has participated in the NCAA Tournament in three straight seasons and advanced to the second round of the national tournament in each of the last two years, which are both program milestones.
