Oregon, how can you compete

Is this mostly Phil Knight money that's financing this?

Well it's good thing were not competing with Oregon for recruits

Plus, they are bound by the same 85 scholarship limit as everyone else. So it still comes down to how they evaluate and develop their talent, even when they get the top shelf group. Or how they gameplan for their opponents.

Doesn't mean we'll be surpassing them anytime soon. But also doesn't mean the rest of the have's in college football should feel any particular insecurity due to Oregon's facilities.

84 Scholarship limit, don't forget about the sanctions...

Crazy how many Nat'l Championships that money has bought!

Only ONE team wins a national title per year.

What that money and those facilities have bought for Oregon football is the ability to be in the hunt for titles - something that has eluded SU football for a loooooong time.

To prove that it's been money well spent, look at Syracuse basketball.

'Cuse has only won one National Championship in hoops, but the Orange have been in the hunt seemingly every year since the mid 1970's and THAT'S what makes for excitement.

That's what sells tickets, sells logo merchandise by the metric ton, and gets a program on national TV each week.

No one expects to win title after title... But having a chance at one when the season kicks off and being in the mix when November rolls around is where the fun's at.

If you asked just about any SU football fan if they'd trade SU's track record post McNabb for Oregon's run of success over that same time period, I'm not sure you'd find a single person who'd decline.

They have eight ten-win seasons since 2000 alone - with 12 Bowl Game appearances including 2 Rose Bowls, 2 Fiesta Bowls and a BCS Title Game.

I'd say that money's bought a lot.
