OT: Cherokees in Alabama played Lacrosse

OK, so this is cool. When translating cave writings from a cave in Alabama, it was discovered that communities were pitted against each other in ceremonial games of "stickball", which from the descriptions sounds like lacrosse.

What would really be the capper for this is to find some sticks. The Museum in DC has a big collection, but most all of them are from tribes in the East and Midwest.

The Cherokee are linguistically related to the Iroquois, they are cousins.
