A teammate and good friend of mine was inducted the same year as Jene into Lemoyne’s Hall of Fame. (1991). Jene was a great player for Lemoyne despite playing out of position for his size. Sad. Surprised it hasn’t been publicized in Syracuse where many people would have so many fond memories of him. RIPHe was a good friend to many SU pIayers in his era whom he stayed in touch with.
He was a friend of mine and I wiII miss him.
Yep. Me too. Good times.I watched him play in that Carrier Classic.
Hi folks, I don’t post much on this board. I thought I’d give her two cents on John Gray. It’s really too bad. my great aunt was an English teacher at Sydney high school she retired as principal she was there from 1929 to 1973 and she was a 1929. Graduate of Syracuse university as salutatorian also the chapter of the international honor Society named after Lydia Metz, she spoke highly of Mr. Gray.Very sad news saw him a few times playing at Sidney, he was larger than life to kids my age when they came to town.
