Cornell promotes Connor Buczek to HC

Carcarterra advice was basically followed. Cornell was quick and decisive , seamless transition which brings continuity that puts a quick end to any questions that would have ensued from returning players, recruits and fanbase. Like it

Agreed, certainly doesn't guaranteed Buczek can carry the momentum forward but with 5 coaches in 10 years and good recruiting momentum the last few years this hire makes a lot of sense for Cornell.

Also keeps talented assistants away from Hopkins. Will be interesting to see how Milliman fills out his staff. My guess is he goes after Hopkins guys (John Crawly comes to mind) but have to imagine it will be hard given the circumstances to find the right guys.

Ciferri is a volunteer assistant at Cornell, will he get bumped up or will the hiring freeze keep the staff at only 2 coaches?

Cornell really had no choice.. With a Hiring freeze and money issues a lateral type move saves money and is some stability.

Wow! What a young staff that's not much older than the kids they're evaluating. If they're good recruiters then they're going to cause a lot of problems for years to come.

Big yr out of the gate for this staff with what they have coming back

When you have lots of money, you can endow your coaching positions.
not sure what lots of money means? the school didnt endow it . Its endowed because the school is trying to be cheap and not spend money on it.

Many schools with wealthy alums endow their coaching positions. Stanford being a prime example. A friend of the program gets to contribute, and get their name attached in a visible way, sort of like building-naming lite. And, it allows the school to divert funds that would have paid a coach to other purposes.

cornell has a mix.. some sports like baseball are endowed because they would cut the sport if they had to actually fund it.

The " Roy D. Simmons Jr. Head Men's Lacrosse Coach" at Syracuse.

I got your endowment swinging!
