This video of Brissett is pretty impressive. Looks like he goes up against Nick Richards at 1:30. Richards tried to post him up and Brissett blocked his shot easy. Then takes it at him a few times. Looks like he doesn't mind contact at all. Guys are hacking him constantly in this video. Took coast to coast and dunked on that one skinny center that looks about 7'2".
That is definitely Richards who he blocked.
I think Brissett has the potential to be a stud defender on the wing in the zone. He's long, rangy and quick. He also seems to be a very aggressive player on both ends. I could see him shooting a lot of FT's the way he attacks the basket.
Kid has a high motor and a bit of a mean streak. He'll probably need to reign that in a bit or he'll foul out inside of two minutes. Seems like a coachable kid though and someone that wants to get better.
That's from flatfooted standing straight up! I think he will be an excellent weakside shotblocker for us.
It's going to be fun watching Richards turn into Dakari Johnson 2.0 at UK.
Kid is a STUD athlete.
As a recruit, he reminds me a lot of Dane Miller -- only Dane Miller stopped growing at 6-6, whereas this kid sprouted up to 6-8 or 6-9, which makes him a high major PF prospect.
Oh Dane...one of the few D1 guys that I was able to play against in my day. I was always hoping he'd pan out even though he went to Rutgers.
I recall Dane Miller seemed to play well against us.
Every time I see his name I think this...Danny O'Shea says...
Oshae in Cuse gear pregame...
Oshae and Howard Washington tonight in another win...
Here is the game link if you are interested in watching either or both play...
Wonder if Oshae is friends with/ knows Shittu from Canadian circuit. Would love an in with Simi. Oshae seems super athletic and plays with a very aggressive mentality. I love it. Plus during his interviews he always emphasizes team play. He is built for our style of play and we are lucky to have him because he should be ranked a lot higher
I was thinking the same. I don't know what it is, but that entire highlight video looks like a demolition derby. On the plus side, Brissett doesn't back down AT ALL, on the negative side, I'd worry about injury and/or him fouling out before he leaves the scorers table!
Oshae went for 35-14-5 in another win earlier...
Why did we settle for this?
A few nuggets on the recruiting front and the looming retirement...
